About
Our property is a heavily forested Certified Tree Farm that butts up to State Forest land. If you want quiet and stars we have that in abundance; also wild animals. There are nesting hawks, deer and the occasional moose, fox or coyote that saunters through but only if you are quiet. The forest is great for hiking or for wildcrafting of edibles. We ask that all foraging is done with sustainability in mind. Locally there are many lakes and mountain hiking trails nearby, we can direct you to them. We are a retired blacksmith (with working forge) and a retired professional baker that love to share our space, love of the forest, fire pit and yard with new friends. If we have the outdoor wood fired oven going, you will be invited for pizza too. Joy loves to share information with folks on campfire cooking, bread baking (GF too), raising and harvesting chickens, fabric arts or stained glass. Bruce loves to talk about building techniques (he built our home, shop and camper), metal work and how to read the forest. Although we look like a park, we are a tree farm which means there are many dangerous (and attractive to children) equipment and projects around. Additionally there are large boulders in unstable piles. We cannot approve of any Boondockers with children younger than 14. This is not negotiable. Children are curious and love to explore which is wonderful, but we are not set up for safe child exploration. We can no longer accept large Class A and 5th wheel rigs due to a change in the Boondockers Welcome umbrella policy.

We are a retired couple who vacation in our hand built truck camper sometimes towing a trailer that carries our Dune Buggy. The buggy means that we do not need to break camp to go off exploring. Here is a video that was made of us when we were a display rig for Overland Expo a few years back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlgxR2FYYx4 . We are homesteaders who love to meet new friends. We are quiet people who love to share information, food and laughter.

House Rules
Absolutely NO OUTSIDE WOOD is to be brought onto the property due to hitchhiking invasive insects and their eggs. We will supply free wood for burning in the fire pit. No smoking near the house but smoking is allowed around your rig. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground. No generators after 10pm. No dogs near the house during the day due to our free ranging chickens and hunting cat. They are in at night.
Parking & Arrival
We are on a well maintained dirt road. There are numerous places to park on dirt some are easily accessed and some are not. We can no longer accept large Class A and 5th wheel rigs due to a change in the Boondockers Welcome umbrella policy. Depending on where you want to park there is a turnaround. There is separate tow vehicle parking if needed.
