About
We are located in the country midway between Midland and Mt. Pleasant. Our 25 acres is a wildlife haven with mowed trails which makes for a nice stroll around the property. Parking is on the front 5 acres of the property and there is plenty of room to park and turn around. We have a fire ring behind our house and a large porch and patio that our guests can share with us while they stay. We do have water available for filling a tank. If we only have one guest RV, we can offer regular household electric hook-up if the rig is parked close enough to the garage. Suggested Local Attractions: Our area offers several attractions. There are hiking and biking as well as a couple of horse riding trails in the area. Lakes and rivers offer fishing opportunities as well as canoeing and kayaking. For those who love beer, both Midland and Mt. Pleasant have breweries/restaurants. Midland also has a very nice taproom downtown. There are also wine bars and one winery in the area. Midland is the home of Dow Gardens and the Whiting Forest Canopy Walk as well as the Center For The Arts. There are also art galleries and interesting shops in both Midland and Mt. Pleasant.

Shooltz Family - Wine loving, foodies from Central Michigan. Details: We are an all American couple that enjoy living in the country. Bill is an avid sportsman and hunter. Laurie is an artist who enjoys creating art and teaching art classes. We both enjoy wine, craft beer and we love to discover great places to eat whenever we travel. We of course love to travel in our RV and have plans on traveling the country more when we retire. We have met several couples who volunteer as lighthouse keepers or gift shop attendees in state and national parks. Our plan is to research this more and try it out when the time comes. Home Town: Our home address is Sanford, Michigan. You may recognize the town name because this spring we had very bed flooding and the Sanford Lake Dam breached, flooding a wide area and destroying the town of Sanford as well as a large area of Midland, MI which is downstream from Sanford. The cleanup will be underway for quite some time to come. Our property was not affected by the flooding. Our property is located about half way between Midland and Mt. Pleasant, MI. We have 25 acres and plenty of room to park an RV of any size. We keep trails mowed around the property and it is nice to take a walk in the evening. There is plenty of wildlife to view. The wild turkeys often come by in the morning and a whitetail doe had twins this spring and they like to wander by every once in a while too. Midland is a wonderful place to visit. They have several attractions such as Dow Gardens and Whiting Forest Canopy Walk as well as great restaurants. Mt. Pleasant is a college town and home to Central Michigan University. Both towns have nice brewery/restaurants. There are biking and hiking trails in the area as well as canoeing and kayaking opportunities for those who love to be outside. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We are just getting started with boondocking so do not have any favorite locations except for a spot in Alba, Michigan which is property owned by friends. Skills or Expertise to Share: Bill is an avid sportsman and hunter. He loves archery and participates in an archery league each winter. He has been grooming his 25 acres for the past several years, working to turn it into a wildlife habitat. Laurie is an artist. She paints mostly acrylic paintings but loves to try new things and loves learning new techniques. She teaches art classes and teaches painting for "Sip & Swirl" events. He passion is to help people who do not think they are creative, to create fun works of art.
