About
*Please Note: There is a development going in next to our property, so there is noise associated with that from 7 AM to 5 PM (or later) most days. Our home is on 40 acres just outside of town. Wildlife abounds here! We have a large number of white-tailed deer, birds of every sort and size, raccoons, and coyotes. We mow some walking paths and welcome you wander the property when to stay here. - Our site requires backing your rig around a 90 degree corner. - Firewood is available on-site & free of charge - please do not bring your own. - Well water available on-site and you are welcome to fill your tanks, but there are no hook-ups. - There are no electrical hook-ups. You're welcome to use any of our outdoor outlets for charging phones, etc. - Dump Stations are 6.4 miles away - at Chester Woods Park for a fee of $15 OR 9 miles away at the Water Reclamation Plant for a fee of $2 (open 24/7 Spring through Fall.) - Bagged trash and un-bagged recyclables can go into our bins (by the pool.) Suggested Local Attractions: Quarry Hill Nature Center, Chester Woods Park, Mayo Clinic (their self-guided art tour is well worth a visit!), Plummer House, Assisi Heights and the Wilson House, Silver Lake Boat & Bike Rentals. Kayaking in Lanesboro.

Nature lover Details: My husband and I both enjoy nature and peace and quiet, peppered with musical and/or cultural events. Both of us are retired. For hobbies, I enjoy photography, handcrafts, games, and reading; my husband enjoys playing music with several groups, being a private pilot, and working on various projects. Home Town: Rochester, MN Favorite Boondocking Locations: We most enjoy boondocking in the truest sense of the word; in the middle of nowhere, with no cell signal, no light pollution, and only the sounds of nature around us. We've been to all three coasts and have found lovely places to boondock all across the country. Skills or Expertise to Share: We have done extensive modifications to our trailer to make it best fit our style of camping (and my design style - lol!), this includes adding communications, solar, a DC to DC charger, and rewiring much of the camper. We are happy to discuss how we made a plan and went about the changes.

House Rules
Please drive slowly once you're on the gravel. Do not bring firewood onto our property. We are trying to minimize the impact of tree-killing pests. We provide free firewood and kindling. No unsupervised children. All pets must remain on a leash and fully under your control any time they are not in your RV. There is a lot of wildlife here; this is for their safety as well as the safety of your pet(s) - pick up after your animal(s) - no unattended animals - if your dog barks excessively you will be asked to leave We let our Harvest Hosts guests set the level of contact they want with us as their hosts. We try to greet you when you arrive, then leave you to seek us out if you have questions or want to visit. We get that sometimes you've had a long day and just want to chill out in solitude. If we're out in the yard and you feel like visiting, walk over and say "hi", or come to the house and ring the doorbell.
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Our property is at the end of a road and our driveway is gravel. There is construction happening on either side of the road into our property, so construction vehicles are often moving about. The RV and parking is just off of the driveway, in a large, fairly level, grassy area. If the ground is saturated when you stay, we'll ask you to park on the edge of the driveway to our barn rather than in the grass. Please drive slowly as there are many wild animals on our property and also to minimize dust and impact on the grassy areas. Our site DOES REQUIRE backing your rig around a 90 degree corner. If you are not comfortable backing your rig, our location is not the right choice for you. If you simply need another pair of eyes, please let us know and we'll gladly come down to the site and help out :) Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is ample parking available adjacent to where the RV can park.
