About
This 34 acre property rich in history was once part of a vast plantation owned by an 1800’s Mississippi governor and now serves as his final resting place. The property is comprised of gently rolling partially wooded farmland with a spring-fed pond and walking trails. Virtually every scaly, furry or feathered form of wildlife ever to draw a breath within the boundaries of the state have been seen here at one time or another. Coyote will call at night. The barred owl is often heard and the great horned owl occasionally in winter. The pond has small fish if the visiting river otter hasn’t cleaned them out. Turtles abound and migrating waterfowl are common. The eastern bluebird is prolific, enjoying the housing provided and a large flock of purple martins arrive on schedule every spring. Siting a bald eagle is possible but rare. Hawks nest in the black walnut grove routinely. Access to some semi-secluded boondocking locations here can be limited in very wet weather. We will keep you on firm yet perhaps less scenic surfaces on those occasions. There currently have been no formal improvements to accept RVs but level ground can be found. The area is generally quiet, certainly more so than the average Walmart parking lot. Distant neighbors are enthusiastic about fireworks on holidays and sometimes target practice on primarily the weekends but this is expected in rural Mississippi. Stays are currently limited to van life enthusiasts and very small travel trailers. We will respect your privacy and diversity and expect the same in return. There is a Walmart super center about 15 miles away and a perfectly suitable community grocery store about 8 miles away. Holly Springs is known for its Antebellum homes and inability to keep electrical power established to our community when the wind blows more than 5 miles per hour.

Hookup Notes
Water not typically available until spring thaw. I have well water plumbed to various locations but I prefer not to pressurize the system until the danger of freezing weather has passed. If you’re bone dry we can probably work something out.
