About
Welcome to Pinesong. There have been over 2 feet of snow so far, an I have not been able to keep things plowed so it is unlikely anyone could get in to the spots Whether you are visiting Glacier, going for a paddle on the river, or just need a day to rest and recuperate. This is an off the beaten path location that is still pretty easy access to the various activities in the area. Only 20 min to the west entrance of Glacier National Park, 30 min to Whitefish Mountain (formerly Big Mountain). 5 minutes from White Raven Winery (also a Harvest Host). Dog guests that are friendly to people *AND* dogs are welcome. Please pick up after them. Dogs may not be left on the property unattended, even in your RV. You will be parking in your own gated pasture area. You can run your generator, put out your awning and enjoy yourself. Feel free to close the gate and let your dog run the pasture. I am told it contains children nicely too. ;) I have put the answers to most of the commonly asked questions in the profile. If you don’t find information in the profile feel free to ask. We are on a secluded property on a private dead-end dirt road, right at the base of a mountain, just east of Columbia Falls, MT. Peaceful rural environment, horses next door, friendly quiet neighbors. Enjoy the sound of the wind in the treetops, the creek and the birds. Availability: If the dates you would like are not listed as available to book on the calendar, then it's not available to book at that time. Groups: It is possible to host more than one vehicle in either spot. If you are a group traveling together, every RV is a BoondockersWelcome members, and want to have a spot together, make you reservations and let me know. Local Services: If you are going to resupply at a grocery store, I recommend Super 1 in Columbia Falls. I am pretty sure it has the biggest grocery store parking lot in the valley, easy RV parking while you shop. Suggested Local Attractions: - The local favorite is a visit to Polebridge. - There is a new bike path along highway 2 - Can-Am side-by side rentals are available in Hungry Horse - Glacier National Park, home of Going to the Sun road, is about 20 minutes away. *********************** Note: For those wishing to visit Glacier National Park, I strongly suggest checking it's status prior to making your plans. Most of it is inaccessible by vehicle during the winter and spring, many of the business are closed during this time. Going To The Sun road doesn't open until they have cleared the snow, which typically takes until at least the end of June, and on heavy snow years it can be well into July. They also have a permit entry system, that runs all summer. Please check their web site for current status and information. ************************************************** There are several attractions along the river, including rafting, and helicopter tours. We also have Big Mountain ski area (now known as Whitefish Mountain Resort), along with the tourist towns of Whitefish and Bigfork. Bigfork is home of the Wild Mile, a kayak race down the river. There are also lots of opportunities for hiking in the summer, and skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.

Love to be on the move. Details: I got my first RV in March of 2014. In the first year I put nearly 30,000 miles on, and I am still loving it at over 100,000 miles! I love the idea of being able to travel and change my schedule without too much effort. And that if I find a great place to visit, I can take a detour and go there. Home Town: Columbia Falls, MT Favorite Boondocking Locations: I am always looking for new favorite places. Right now my favorite for boondocking is a BLM site along the Columbia River near the Dalles. Skills or Expertise to Share: Sidecar Monkey. Yes, the one that hangs off the side at 100+ mph. It's quite a rush! (I am not sure if that is a skill, or just a crazy experience!) I have also raised and milked goats, made various goat milk products from ice cream to soap. I have a bit of experience with efficiency in RV-ing. :)

House Rules
Most important rule is to have a great time No smoking anywhere on the property please. Please drive very slowly on the road 10 MPH max on the dirt road so as not to kick up dust in dry conditions. During the summer this area often has active fire restrictions. Please be cautious and aware of any restrictions prior to lighting your BBQ. I often have back-to-back stays. I typically request people arrive after noon, and leave before noon. If you want to arrive earlier or leave later just check with me to see if the space is free. If you have a pet, please take them with you if you leave the property. No unattended pets, even in your RV.
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: This is on a private dirt road. There are some overhead branches, however I have managed in a 13 foot tall rig. I can actually accept a vehicle up to 30 feet however no trailers longer than 25 feet. The space is best suited for class B RV's or class C truck/camper combinations. A trailer, would need to be a small trailer as the turn is tight. If you have a trailer please plan on arriving/leaving during daylight hours to accommodate easy visibility of the access. Verizon is 2-3 bars here. ATT is sometimes a bar. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Plenty of room to disconnect and park next to your RV. You will probably want to disconnect before you leave the paved road.
