About
***25ft is the total maximum parking space. Our driveway is steep and has limited parking at the top, for a Class B, truck camper, or small Class C. Trailers will not fit.*** Our space is mostly a driveway, lawn, and woods. Parking space is limited to our driveway. You're welcome to make use of our lawn and woods. We have a fire pit a few yards from the driveway which you are welcome to use if you have wood. We have a swingset and climber your children are welcome to use, at your own risk. Our children are 11, 9, 7, 5, and 1mo and are happy to play with new friends. There is little to no cell phone reception but you can make calls and text using the wifi, although you may need to relax on our porch to access service. We have a 5mo old puppy who sometimes barks from excitement but is very friendly. Suggested Local Attractions:There are many outdoor activities nearby. In winter and early spring, Ragged Mountain is the closest ski resort, but Cannon, the Kanc, Gunstock, Loon, and Bretton Woods are all about an hour or less away. In late spring and summer, Newfound Lake is the closest lake for swimming, boating, and water sports. There are boat rentals available near the lake. Wellington State Park or Grey Rocks Natural Area both offer public access to the lake (Grey Rocks does not have a swimming area). Wellington was reservation only in 2020. In fall, check out Cardigan Mountain Orchard for PYO apples, cider, and donuts, or hike for amazing New England foliage. There are many hiking and biking locations within 5-30 minutes' drive away. I'm including a partial list but am happy to consult to help you find something specific to your needs: Danbury Rails to Trails, Cardigan Mountain, Little Sugarloaf, Big Sugarloaf, Profile Falls, Slim Baker, Quincy Bog, Sculptured Rocks.

HOST
We are a family of 7, five kids 12 and under. We homeschool and are therefore home regularly, but don't have a set schedule. We love boondocking in our DIY campervan as a way to travel with our kids without spending too much or forcing too much inside time. Our kids are high energy and spend the majority of their time outside or moving in ways they really should be outside. We recently added a 16' Scamp to our rig in order to add some beds and indoor cooking space for those nasty weather days. We also have a one year old Lab mix who is training as a service dog so she is always on leash. We have loved meeting new people as we travel throughout the country, and are looking forward to another year of exciting travel.

House Rules
Absolutely NO SMOKING on our property, even in your own van! We have allergies and young children and are very serious about this. This includes vaping and non-cigarette smoking as well. No judgement if that's your thing, but this isn't the stay for you then. When you arrive, please park and then come check in with us if we are home. That way we can make sure everyone can still use the driveway and you can ask any questions we may not have covered. Wood Piles: Please do not touch or climb on our wood piles. They sometimes shift without warning, which could be dangerous. We typically have extra outdoor firewood available, please just ask. Barn: Please stay out of the barn. It's not in great shape, and we do not want anyone hurt. Campfires must be in the fire ring after 5pm per state regulations We have no trouble with kids, our kids are always happy to play with others. If you have pets, please keep them on a leash. I know this can be rough, especially for larger dogs, but there are some less than friendly, un-fixed dogs next door, and our neighbors run a kennel on the other side. You are welcome to explore the property, let kids play, etc. We are new to this, so please bear with us if we have forgotten anything! Thanks!
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: The road to our home is a dirt road. It is not plowed to the dirt but is typically traversable in our Toyota Prius. In the spring, once temperatures dip down into the 50s during the day, expect some muddy road conditions. Our driveway is very steep (and paved). We are able to drive up it in our Ford Transit LWB without bottoming out, but it is typically not passable in winter without 4WD/AWD. Once the snow melts, there is no trouble with driving up slowly in a Class B. There is room for a Class B campervan to turn around at the top of the driveway. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Our parking space is unfortunately quite limited. We are happy to host a class B campervan or anyone car camping. However, we are up a steep driveway and have a town-placed no parking sign out in front of our property. If you're tent camping, we have a fairly large yard you're welcome to use, but it wouldn't be safe to attempt to park on it. Any tow vehicle would not fit, unfortunately.
