About
Take a journey back in time and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of ancient culture with an unforgettable RV camping experience at a unique site situated on the scenic Trail of the Mountain Spirits Bi-way. Perfect for history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike, this destination offers a rare glimpse into the Mimbres Valley's past, dating from 200AD to 1150AD, through its captivating archaeological site and museum housed in two historic Territorial Adobe buildings. The museum, nestled within a pre-1900 homestead, not only serves as a treasure trove of information with its various rooms dedicated to local history but also offers a charming gift shop for those looking to take a piece of history home. As an added bonus for travelers, this location doubles as a base camp for archaeologists, particularly during the summer months when it welcomes the University of Las Vegas, Nevada's field school, adding an educational twist to your RV camping adventure. Harvest Host guests can revel in guided tours available on the first and third Saturdays of the month, exploring both the indoor wonders and the outdoor trails that snake around this historical heritage site. For those who prefer a more personalized experience, private tours are just a call away, ensuring a deep dive into the timeless narrative of the Mimbres people. Convenience meets history here as the site offers electricity for RVs for an additional charge, ensuring your stay is comfortable. Pets are more than welcome, though they must be leashed while enjoying the surrounding trails and buildings. Understanding the journey might be long, guests have the option to request a second night's stay, providing ample time to explore not just the site but also the nearby Gila Cliff Dwellings and Gila National Forest. Please be advised to check for travel updates, especially concerning Highway 152, to ensure a smooth journey to this historical haven. Masks are optional, allowing guests to choose their comfort level as they step back in time. For an RV camping experience that blends history, culture, and the great outdoors, this Mimbres Cultural Heritage Site is a must-visit, offering a captivating gateway to the past on the picturesque Trail of the Mountain Spirits Bi-way. Make your reservation today and prepare to be transported to another era, where the stories of ancient inhabitants come alive amidst the beauty of the New Mexico landscape.

House Rules
Check-in papers are on the front porch of the museum in a red-lid real estate box. Museum hours 11 am - 3 pm. Masks are optional and to be provided by the visitor. We are a dark area- no street lights -so it is easier if visitors arrive before dark to set up. Our neighbors do have friendly dogs that sometimes wander off their property so be aware. Wildlife is common because we are only a block from the Mimbres River. For your safety, stay alert. Have lunch or dinner on the porch and enjoy our lovely porch.
