I was born and raised in Denton County Texas, received BA in Biology, MA in Social Ecology, Captain in USAF Viet Nam era, class room science teacher, had Rylander Realty and Construction firm, developed new way of building underground structures, Peace Corps three time, agriculture agent, community development, park ranger in Texas and Grand Canyon National Park, environmental educator initiating and helping create the first environment education curriculum for Mexico, Owned and operated the Hummingbird Lodge and Educational Center, Social worker, museum curator, writer, photographer, father, Trustee of the Texas Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, designer and builder of most kinds of vernacular architecture giving papers in international conferences in five countries, Lived in the US, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, the Philippines, Nepal, Paupa New Guinea, Australia, Spain, and Canada.
