About
Soar into history while RV camping near a fascinating museum dedicated to celebrating the region's rich civilian and military aviation heritage. Ideally suited for history buffs and aviation enthusiasts alike, this unique destination offers an immersive glimpse into aviation's past through its compelling displays and interactive events. With affordable admission rates for adults and children, it's a perfect educational pit-stop for the whole family. Please note, the museum welcomes visitors seasonally and is currently preparing to reopen its doors in May 2024, promising new exhibits and experiences to explore. While the museum prioritizes historical preservation and education, it also caters to the adventurous spirit of RV travelers. Although it offers a no-frills camping experience with no hookups, no water source, and a clear policy against open fires, it does accommodate self-contained units with the use of generators. This minimalistic approach to RV camping encourages a closer bond with the serene surroundings and a quieter, undisturbed night under the stars. Pet lovers need not worry about leaving their furry companions behind, as the site is pet-friendly, adhering to the local city ordinance to keep pets leashed at all times. This ensures a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone, with the added request to maintain cleanliness by picking up after your pets. For the convenience of our guests, the property remains accessible with an open-gate policy for the duration of your stay, offering easy entry and exit. However, it's important to plan your visit accordingly, as the museum and its camping facilities operate with specific hours, not accepting same-day reservations and handling requests the following business day if made after 5 pm CST. Embrace a blend of learning and leisure with an RV camping trip that promises both educational enrichment and the tranquility of a night spent near historical planes and tales of aviation prowess.

Parking & Arrival
When you pull onto the property, take the right fork in the road. That road will take you to a large paved lot in front of a large white hangar. Please park parallel with the grass line on the far western edge of the lot but please DO NOT park in the grass! The parking area is an active taxiway and aircraft parking area and does occasionally have aircraft movement so please make sure to park according to the directions above unless otherwise directed by the museum staff. If you have any questions, please reach out to the museum! Thank you!
