About
We offer a space on our private property and are not a Harvest Host business. Before you ask, ensure your request conforms with the Boondockers Welcome Courtesy Contract. Our home is in a quiet, older, suburban neighbourhood that is less than a half hour drive by car to downtown Halifax. There is a Metro Transit bus stop about a 32 minute walk away. Uber and Bob’s Taxi (902-463-2222) are also available. Minutes drive to local eateries, entertainment, etc. World class walking and biking trails are 5 minute walk away at Shubenacadie Canal Park and walking and biking trails on private land are a 5 minute walk away in the other direction. Shopping at MicMac Mall, Dartmouth Crossing, downtown Halifax, etc. Museums, the Discovery Centre, and other attractions are a car or bus ride away. Peggy’s Cove, which you can get to by car, is a highlight for anyone travelling to Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia’s Bay of Fundy (Burntcoat Head Park) is about a 45 minute drive, and is world reknown for having the highest tides in the world. HOST
Retired, we have done a lot of dry camping around our province and Newfoundland and now that restrictions are lifted we look forward to finally using our membership and seeking out new places and meeting new people on the Boondockers network. We have met many interesting people over the past three years as a Boondockers Host. Details: Active retirees. Home Town: Waverley, Nova Scotia, Canada is where we live. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We hope to have more experiences boondocking. We stayed with two lovely Boondockers Welcome Hosts during our briefer than expected 2019 US trip. We hope to continue our US trip before too long. We stayed with another lovely couple in New Brunswick in 2022. We hope to stay with more hosts in the future. Skills or Expertise to Share: We bought our first RV (class A Coachman Mirada) in 2018 not knowing anything about operating them. The former owner gave us a great orientation and our long time neighbours, also RVers, have given us lots of advice. We used the RV on a couple weekend trips and then spent 10 days exploring Newfoundland. What a trip! Since 2019 we have owned a class b+ and spent another two weeks in Newfoundland as well as short trips around Nova Scotia and music festivals with friends. We briefly owned a travel trailer when the class b+ got too small (adopted a 40 lb pup), but we enjoy the all in one experience best so we are currently driving a class c Bigfoot. We no longer feel like new rvers, but still new to using the boondocking network for our own trips. We have only stayed with 3 hosts since we joined in 2019. Although no longer new to rving, we feel there is always more to learn and we look forward to exchanging stories and knowledge with other boondockers. On the home front we are always working on a new project — renovating, gardening, or landscaping.

Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Narrow lane with some over hanging trees. Anyone who can tow and maneuver their rv should be able to turn around in our second driveway and back into the spot or vice versa when you leave. We don’t recommend any larger than a 25’ trailer or a 35’ motorhome for maneuverability. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Room to park your tow vehicle on our property. We just had our boondocking spot paved in the spring 2022 so if your rig or vehicle is leaking fluids please do not request a stay with us.
