About
As the sun gently warms the frost-kissed trees of Vermont, imagine the faint crackle of sap boiling in the distance, a sweet beckoning to all RV camping enthusiasts seeking a slice of authentic New England charm. Our family-run sugar operation, rooted in tradition since the '70s, offers a unique stay for those ready to immerse themselves in the rustic rhythms of sugaring season.
Situated adjacent to the renowned Scott Farm Orchard in Dummerston, VT, our campsite offers guests the rare opportunity to witness the time-honored craft of turning sap into syrup. From late February to early April, join in the heartwarming hustletapping maple trees, stoking the fires, and savoring the fruits of your efforts with a taste of pure, homemade syrup.
Though our grounds hibernate during the off-season, arrangements can be made to welcome intrepid explorers eager to park their RV amidst the serene Vermont landscape. Whether lounging by your camper or venturing out, the nearby walking trail (find the serenity of nature here: https://www.relive.cc/view/vQvy17k3JKv) offers a peaceful retreat, while a visit to Scott Farm Orchard (explore at www.scottfarmvermont.com) promises a journey through agricultural history.
For those captivated by stone's silent storytelling, the Scott farm showcases breathtaking stone walls (creative inspiration awaits: https://thestonetrust.org/), a testament to the region's craftsmanship. Literary buffs will delight in the proximity to Rudyard Kipling's historic home, Naulakha, managed by the Landmark Trust USAa mere stroll down the road (discover this gem: https://landmarktrustusa.org/).
Our on-site store may be compact, but it brims with artisanal treasures, all available for purchase from our online platform or the convenient self-service refrigerator in front of the sugarhouse. Here, guests can take home a delicious memento of their RV camping adventure in the form of rich, artisanal syrup, a delectable embodiment of the land's bounty.
Immerse yourself in a landscape where tradition bubbles over and natural wonders abounda place where your RV camping journey becomes a heartwarming story steeped in sugaring lore.
