About
A private house in a quiet residential community. The house is at the end of the street and there is on street or off street parking available. 15 Amp electricity may be available. City water is available. Pure, pristine natural mountain spring water is available approximately 15 minutes away from the house. No dumping is available. Photos will be available at a later date. Suggested Local Attractions:Nancy Hanks, Abraham Lincoln's mother's farm and a recreation of her cabin is nearby. The Potomac River is near. There are two scenic trains (Cumberland, MD & Romney, WV) within an hour of Keyser. There is lots of beautiful WV & western MD mountain, rolling hills and rural farms throughout this region. It's a slice of rural Americana. The beautiful Shenandoah Valley is about 70 miles east (about 1 1/2 hour drive) and Washington, DC is about 125 east (about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive). This area is rich in antiques, Appalachian tradition and bluegrass and old time mountain music. WV University is about 2 hours west and Pittsburgh, PA is about 3 hours northwest.

Location Independent Writer and Itinerant Media (audio/video) Producer Details: I'm a (just slightly) pre-Baby Boomer, born in NJ, 12 miles from New York City. Left there in 1967 when I completed my BA and moved to Syracuse, NY to earn an MS. Since then I've lived in San Antonio, TX & Washington, DC (courtesy of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era), Annapolis, MD (and surrounding area), the Shenandoah Valley near Winchester, VA - and moved my domicile to Box Elder (Rapid City) SD in 2010, but use a small rural town, Keyser, in WV as my eastern base camp. I'm a lifelong entrepreneur with over 60 years in the audio & video production & recording industry. I also owned a business/self-help trade book publishing business for a dozen years. I just recently published a new book for one of my former authors. It's the first book I've published in 12 years. I've always been self-employed and nearly always worked from my home. I have conducted seminars and workshops on various topics including home-based businesses. I gave up the more traditional lifestyle and moved from the 49 acre ranch I ran my businesses from at the end of 2008 for a nomadic life of traveling and working on all kinds of recording and writing projects wherever I happen to be. I created a 12 Step Program for Living Free, soon to be released as a book and I will conduct seminars, workshops and retreats for individuals seeking the personal freedom they have not yet found. I am divorced and the father of an accomplished graphic/web designer son based in Los Angeles, CA. I consider myself laid back, a good conversationalist and somewhat-retired - whatever that means - I'll never fully retire, it's not in my vocabulary. I am a life long learner, love meeting new people, can never wait to see what's around the next bend in the road or over the next hill and am into a simple, uncomplicated, frugal lifestyle. Otherwise, my friends think I'm a pretty nice guy. Home Town: I'm originally a Jersey Boy from Clifton, NJ. Favorite Boondocking Locations: So far . . . everywhere is my favorite. So much to see, so little time to see it all. Skills or Expertise to Share: Writing/blogging, Audio Production, Location Music/Sound Effects Recording, Voice-over Talent, Audio Book Production, Theatrical Sound Design, Small & Home-based Business Consulting, Book Publishing, Seminars/Workshops/Retreats about Living Free
