About
Our history: Family-owned since 1920 the property became a much-loved summer home for 5 generations of Ann’s family and the many friends who were like family into the early 1990’s. In the fall of 1993, we purchased the property from Ann’s Nana who wanted to see our infant son, Storm grow up and run on the property, as she had seen her grandchildren do. After converting the property to a year-round residence, we finally moved in June of 1994. As the years went by Nana continued to visit, we often talked about how wonderful it was to be in the country and have the benefit of farms on either side of the property to interact with and visit. Memories of those visits and conversations took root in 2010, when Rick and I made the decision that we would start our own farm and begin by raising alpacas. We named the farm Storm’s Run Farm because we felt it would complete the circle of Nana’s wishes. Creating the farm from a previous summer home took a lot of effort from our 3 sons, our daughter in law, other family members as well as a few very good friends who added support with their talents, and once done the arrival of the animals made this peaceful place even more special. The farm has continued a tradition of people who share common interests and the love of nature, a peaceful place and coming together with new friends, creates something special. This property has always been a place for people of all ages and from all places to relax, feel at home and enjoy the simple things in life. Family and friends new and old, love to visit and talk about the special times shared here, which have grown even more wonderful once the alpacas and farm animals arrived. Six generations and countless friends have been here and shared special memories together, now want you and your family to come, visit and stay, so you too can also build special memories with your family and/or friends. WHAT CAN OUR FARM OFFER YOU: Our farm offers a plethora of fun opportunities from visits with our many alpacas and their animal friends, a large open field where kids and adults can play old and new fashioned lawn games, and quiet walks while you enjoy natural beauty of our trails, which track through our many acres of woods, to hayrides which despite needing to be prearranged and have an extra fee can be offered if you wish, as well as shopping for alpaca products ranging from children's toys to adult clothing socks and felted natural soaps. OUR ANIMALS: Gentle curious alpacas, friendly donkeys who are especially fond of anyone with apples , fun loving goats who at times climb onto the roof of their house on high, A mature quarter horse who loves to roam the property and worry drivers on the road when he looks like he might get too close and a young adorable mini filly who just loves any kind of attention.. There are several pot belly pigs that are always looking for a handout, 2 bunnies who love people who offer them carrots, friendly farm cats that roam the farm, a couple of ducks and lots of chickens that lay fresh eggs to purchase for breakfast if you need them. If you like bird watching we also have beautiful wild birds that perch in the trees on the farm, from lovely bluebirds to colorful jays, cardinals, goldfinch, woodpeckers, robins, chickadees, hawks and an occasional heron and bald eagle have flown above our farm. There are animals and birds to delight everyone in your party. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: If your preference is to stay somewhere centrally located where you have place to park, lay your head and head out from to experience what South Jersey has offer, a stay at Storm's Run Farm can offer that also. Since our farm is ideally located 5 to 15 minutes from most of the major highways and direct local roads, you will be able to access whatever you want, in this rich tourism opportunity area from minutes to just under an hour, whether it is sitting on a beach, canoeing or kayaking (don't have them, no problem rentals are nearby), crabbing, fishing, Revolutionary or Civil War historical locations, Underground Railroad routes and sites, hiking, boardwalk ride excitement or specialty shopping including pottery and glass specialties, all are within close/reasonable and often beautiful drives. Parking is on a deep bed of wood chips on at the top of our large field for the first guest. An interested second or third guest should call to review their rig and their preference for a location before attempting to reserve because while there is ample room in our field to consider more than one RV, we want you to be sure you know where the location will be for your ease of finding where to pull in . If there is a group of more than 2 traveling together please call me directly to discuss the needs first. Contact Ann by phone/text 609-405-0339 and if I am unavailable at the first attempt and I don't return the call in 15 minutes, PLEASE CALL AGAIN OR TEXT RicK AT 8568851126 and identify that you are a Harvest Host guest at the beginning of your message! We he have also added solar lighting for nighttime arrival ease and if you call up to10 minutes before your arrival if it is after dark, we will meet you in the golf cart with the lights onto guide you in. There will be signs posted along the road by the field where to pull in for daytime arrival ease.. In the near future there will be fencing along the road with gates placed for easier pull in identification and they will will have signage on them as well. (we appreciate your patience on that!.
