About
As dawn breaks over the majestic plains, RV campers at this unique location awaken to the stirring sight of North American bison roaming freelya testament to the incredible conservation efforts that this destination champions. This revered site is not only a sanctuary for these magnificent creatures but also serves as an educational beacon for visitors seeking to understand the historic, ecological, economic, and cultural significance of the bison's restoration. While immersing yourself in the serene landscape, remember that this experience is more than just RV campingits an opportunity to connect with something larger than yourself. This non-profit sanctuary advocates for the North American bison with a passion that is palpable in every exhibit and educational program offered. However, while the bison may roam free, we kindly ask our visitors to observe the sanctuary guidelines. Although pets are not permitted within the museum or gallery areas, they are welcome to enjoy the outdoors on a leash, provided their owners ensure the space is kept pristine by picking up after them. Please also note that sustenance for your soul is abundant here, but we maintain a no food and drink policy inside the museum spaces to preserve the integrity of our exhibitions. RV campers, nature lovers, and cultural enthusiasts alike, prepare for a memorable stay where the whisper of the prairie winds will enrich your soul, and the sight of bison herds against a sprawling horizon will etch a permanent memory in your heart.

In addition to 6 galleries within the museum, the National Buffalo Museum also maintains a live exhibit of a bison herd and pasture tours available during the summer season. It is also home to the Buffalo Hall of Fame, honoring individuals who have worked to restore the species. The museum highlights the rancher's role in bison restoration, and in this way promotes the commercial bison industry. The museum also includes a museum store containing an amazing assortment of unique bison-themed items.
