Boondockers Welcome is Joining the Harvest Hosts Family
Harvest Hosts is excited to announce that Boondockers Welcome is now part of the Harvest Hosts family. By bringing Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome together, we will be able to offer members the ability to access more than 5,000 unique boondocking locations across the two networks. Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome will remain separate memberships, although our team is hard at work building a single platform where members of both programs can enjoy integrated functionality and receive bundled rates in the future.
For those not familiar with the name, Boondockers Welcome is an online network that connects RVers with private property owners that allow them to camp on their property at no charge, other than their gratitude. Boondockers Welcome has a strong sense of community, and its members are a gracious and welcoming group. While Harvest Hosts connects RVers with local businesses for overnight stays, Boondockers Welcome’s 2,900+ hosts offer up their private property to the Boondockers community to camp on for one or multiple nights.
The company was founded by mother-daughter team Marianne Edwards and Anna Maste, and they have done an amazing job building the Boondockers Welcome community over the last nine years. Marianne and Anna have decided to step back from Boondockers to enjoy the next chapter of their lives, and they were pleased to find a partner in Harvest Hosts to be the next stewards of this community.
The Harvest Hosts team is working on the details of the integration, and we will be in touch in the coming months with more updates. In the meantime, here are a few notes that will hopefully answer any questions:
- Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts will continue to operate as separate programs, with separate membership fees. If you just want to be a member of Harvest Hosts, great! If you just want to be on Boondockers Welcome, go for it! And, if you see value in being a member of both programs, that works too.
- A current standalone Harvest Hosts membership will continue to be $99/year; a current Boondockers Welcome membership will be $79/year. Grandfathered rates for both sites will continue to be honored. We are looking into how we can offer members of both programs more value through bundled offers, but we need a little more time to figure out the details.
- In the coming months, we will be combining Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome from a backend technology standpoint. Doing so will allow us to invest in more product features and functions that enhance the experience for guests and hosts of both programs. There is nothing for you to do for now on the technology front. Please continue using Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome as you currently do. We will share more details in the coming months as we work on them.

What some examples of “Community Hosts,” please?
I’m having trouble logging in to Boondockers Welcome. I see where it says how do you sign up but I don’t see how you login when you already have an account.
Are there any boondocking sites in vt
I’m so sad that Harvest Host drop the ball on taking over Boondockers Welcome. The Launch today was so disappointing that after a year of being a Host for Boondockers I will have to stop. I had the most popular location the outer SF Bay Area. Harvest host site is not host friendly. I wanted to thank BoonDockers Welcome for giving me a opportunity to meet so many nice people in the RV community.
Hey Thomas, I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed with the launch. I recommend reaching out to Harvest Hosts/Boondockers Welcome directly with any further questions or concerns as they are more adequately equipped to help you. Best of luck to you!
I am trying to put this post on this part of the site and cannot, so I decided to share it to your post. Hopefully someone of authority will see it here! As a Boondockers Welcome host for 2 years, I am very dissatisfied with the support system now that the 2 businesses have joined. I do not get requests in a timely manner, and I no longer get text messages of requests from campers wanting to camp at our location. BW always sent a text that I could immediately respond to. Now I only get emails of requests. I don’t know anyone that checks their email many times a day. But text messages have an alert sound that will let me know when a request comes across. As a host, we have been given free BW membership until 2030 because we have hosted so many BW campers. HH now wants us to pay to be a part of the joint business of BW and HH. I do not feel this is fair to ask and I will not be joining HH. I am happy with our membership in BW…..except for the issues with notifications. So, what is the deal here with this issue?
HELP! We are members of Harvest Host and Boondockers Welcome. We can not sign into Harvest Host after changing the email associated with the account to match the BDW email. Couldnt log onto HH. Tried to change the password thru HH, but none accepted. Would like to use HH. Need help signing in please! SOON. Thanks.
Excited to have the integrated map for planning trips!
So excited about an integrated map!!! Will save a lot of time and having to use multiple devices for planning trips! 😊
Can’t wait for this to be released. We will announce it when we have one available!
Looking forward to utilizing Harvest Host locations in the future.
