Harvest Hosts is an incredibly unique RV membership program. Through this program, members are granted access to 5196 host locations across North America for overnight accommodations with no camping fees. To support each of these businesses, members typically make a small purchase of wine or produce or whatever it is that the business is selling or offering. Locations include establishments such as farms, wineries, breweries, museums, restaurants, attractions, and more. Buried Acorn Brewing is an awesome example of one of our amazing hosts. The History

The idea for Buried Acorn began brewing in 2016, but this idea did not become a brewery and taproom until July 2018. Brothers-in-law Tim Shore and Sam Kim prepared spent two years preparing to open their brewery. In preparation for opening, they were busy brewing and aging their beers on site for about six months. They have always specialized in producing barrel-aged sour and farmhouse beer, but have learned to brew a variety of beers to cater to more tastes. On opening day, they offered five beers on tap and had numerous food trucks on-site. They have since expanded to include many more beer, cider and sour options, which sometimes change seasonally.

The Business Today

Today, they Buried Acorn Brewing operates as a pretty bustling brewery, especially on the weekends. They consistently serve about sixteen draft brews and offer a hefty selection of house-made canned or bottled drinks, as well. In addition, they also typically offer at least half a dozen canned beer varieties, along with a few additional hard ciders. They continue to innovate and create unique-flavored beers, with some of the more quirky names including “1000 Tiny Michael Jacksons Breakdancing in Your Mouth," “Wholphin Loves Narluga," “Right Left Loopty Loop Double Loopty Loop Slight Left Right," and “Chainsaws And Kittens." The environment is very welcoming and laid-back, yet is still funky and fun. Their menu is expansive and their can designs are comical. Be sure to check out the artwork on the cans and on the walls during your visit.

Joining Harvest Hosts

Buried Acorn is newer to the Harvest Hosts program but quickly became a hit. At this time, this is the only Harvest Hosts location within Syracuse, New York, making this the perfect stop for both local and passing-by RVers. They are extremely pet-friendly. Dogs are not only welcomed onto their stunning outdoor patio, but can even come inside since there is no food served here. The outdoor seating area has a few sections and is beautifully decorated. This Harvest Hosts location has three reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size. 

I personally had the wonderful opportunity to visit Buried Acorn Brewing last June of 2021. I enjoyed several of their beers, particularly their "Diminisher," a Kolsch draft, and their "Lemon Lounger," a sour draft. Their interior and exterior areas were beautiful, and the exterior RV parking area was level and quiet, making this an excellent city-based Harvest Hosts location.Buried Acorn Brewing is an incredible New York brewery location, perfectly displaying the uniqueness of the Harvest Hosts experience.
