So far, 4863+ locations have opened their hearts and their homes and/or businesses to members of the Harvest Hosts RV community, allowing them overnight accommodations with no camping fees in beautiful places across North America. In return, members should plan to make a small purchase to support the small business. One of our awesome hosts is Recline Ridge Vineyards and Winery in Tappen, British Columbia. This vineyard specializes in crafting fabulous Canadian wines in a beautiful setting. The History

Graydon and Maureen Ratzlaff began Recline Ridge Vineyards in 1994, when the first of the cool-climate grape vines were planted. Five years later, the winery opened in 1999. Since then, Recline Ridge Vineyards and Winery has been family-owned and operated. Their location is nestled in the heart of the Shuswap Lake area of British Columbia. Although north of the fiftieth parallel, their vineyards enjoy sun-drenched days and cool evenings which maximize varietal character and set the stage for the production of award-winning wines, noted for their clean, sound structure, intense flavors, and perfect balance.

The Business Today

Today, Recline Ridge continues to operate as a beautiful and successful business. Their facility, wine shop, and tasting bar are open daily from April 1st to October 31st each year. They specialize in cool-climate wines, produced from locally-grown grapes, and their goal is to introduce these unique wines to their guests, while providing the very best experience they can. Their tasting room and wine shop were both designed to promote a unique ambiance, while their patio and picnic area allow guests to enjoy their wine while immersing themselves in the beauty of the region and of their property.

“The best part of running our business is engaging and relating with customers from all over the world,” says Graydon. “We love introducing our unique, cool-climate wines to the adventurous wine tourists.”

Joining the Harvest Hosts Program

The Ratzlaffs joined the Harvest Hosts program in 2014, and they haven’t looked back since. They have hosted many folks from Canada and all over the United States, with a wide variety of RV types. There have even been a few people from overseas driving rented RVs. Since joining Harvest Hosts, they have had an RV guest almost every night, and they have enjoyed each and every one. They just want to ensure that their guests enjoy the peace and quiet of their location and appreciate the overall beauty of the region, while enjoying their fantastic wines.

This unique winery and tasting room with a vineyard showcases some of the best that British Columbia has to offer. They are located in the beautiful Shuswap region, so be sure to stop in if you ever end up in this corner of the world.
