Rise and Shine at No View Farm, Inn & Bakery

Harvest Hosts is an incredibly unique RV membership program. Through this program, members are granted access to 4862+ host locations across North America for overnight accommodations with no camping fees. To support each of these businesses, members typically make a small purchase of wine or produce or whatever it is that the business is selling or offering. Locations include establishments such as farms, wineries, breweries, museums, restaurants, attractions, and more. No View Farm, Inn & Bakery is an incredible example of one of our awesome hosts. Located in Rumford, Maine, this bed and breakfast also features an on-site bakery. Continue on to learn all about the business, its history, the operation today, and its joining of the Harvest Hosts program.

The History

Owner Annette “Nettie” Cochran has always loved animals and has added many/ hobbies and skills to her repertoire over the years. In 1983, Nettie drew up the plans for her future A-frame home and, with her father’s help, laid the foundation. By 1987 the house was complete, and in 1992 they began producing maple syrup. Needing a name for their brand, they looked around the heavily forested property and realized they had no nice views. Hence, the name was born. Eventually, neighbors cleared out some trees which granted No View Farm the gift of mountain and river views. She continued adding to the house and the property until it became what it is today.

The Business Today

Today, Nettie keeps herself busy with her horses, greenhouses, cooking, running the B&B, and more. She considers herself to be a “60+ years young farmer.” Annually she grows over eighty varieties of vegetables and herbs. She also handcrafts a variety of products, ranging from baby diapers and bibs to tapestries, soaps, salves, and more.

Visitors can order ahead to have a reheatable meal, such as a pot pie or baked goods waiting for them. After all, a truly relaxing night is one where there is no cooking necessary! In addition to all the handmade goodies from Nettie, she also features handmade items from local artisans.
