From breweries, orchards, and markets to vineyards and golf clubs, Northern Georgia offers a variety of RV camping experiences. Embrace the comfort of your home-on-wheels and embark on a hiker's and Harvest Hosts member’s paradise in this picturesque region.

RV Camping in Northern Georgia

Georgia may be “The Peach State”, but the regions found here are vastly different from each other. We’ve already covered RV Camping in Southern Georgia. However, northern Georgia is home to some of the Appalachian Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it much different from its counterpart. Surprisingly, average daily temperatures for northern Georgia in January and February tend to stay in the 50s and 60s and rarely drop below freezing. This can provide excellent RV camping opportunities, even in the winter season. The opportunities are even greater with a Harvest Hosts membership, which provides many locations for RV camping in Georgia with no camping fees.

Fannin Brewing Company - Blue Ridge, Georgia

This awesome brewery location can be found in one of the most northernmost regions of Georgia. Fresh air, fresh water, and fresh beer: that is the Fannin Brewing Company motto. This microbrewery offers three year round beers, eight specialty or seasonal beers, and five beers that can only be found in the tasting room. Owner Tom Fennell began producing wine in 2002 but found that the fit wasn’t quite right for him. Tom began selling his first beers in 2012, and the rest is history. This Harvest Hosts location offers one reservable, pet-friendly space for RVs under forty-four feet in length. They also have potable water available.

Mercier Orchards - Blue Ridge, Georgia

Also found in Blue Ridge, this orchard’s roots date all the way back to Bill and Adele Mercier in 1943, and family members continue working the farm today. They currently grow strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, plums, nectarines, and apples. There is a bakery, a café, and a store all on-site. Visitors can find an assortment of baked goods ranging from donuts to cookies, breads, pies, and more. The café offers breakfast and lunch on the weekends from 9am-4pm. Mercier Orchards also offers U-Pick for some of their produce during the peak seasons. This Harvest Hosts location has four reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size.

Roosters Markets - Jasper, Georgia

Roosters Markets is no ordinary roadside farm stand. Not only do they sell a variety of fresh produce, but they also sell assorted oils and vinegars, meats, sauces, mixes, and canned products. Some of our Harvest Hosts members' favorite products are the boiled peanuts, sauerkraut, BBQ sauce, margarita mix, and pickles. Roosters frequently has crafts for sale outside of their stand, as well. This Harvest Hosts location offers three reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size. 4.jpg)

Sharp Mountain Vineyards - Jasper, Georgia

Established in 1995, Sharp Mountain Vineyards is dedicated to producing the finest wines from the finest fruits. This vineyard sits at 1500 feet in elevation and overlooks the nearby town of Jasper. The owners carefully tend their vineyard all year long, handpicking the grapes, and personally attending to every detail of the winemaking process. They currently offer sixteen wines, with different varieties coming and going throughout the seasons. This Harvest Hosts location offers Wi-Fi and two reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size.

Hightower Creek Vineyards - Hiawassee, Georgia

The original owners moved to Hiawassee in 1995 and planted their first grapes in 2009. In 2012, they opened their winery and tasting room. Fred and Carol Myers purchased the vineyard in 2018 and continue the traditions today of producing quality wines surrounded by friends. They currently produce ten wines, ranging from dry to sweet. This Harvest Hosts location offers two reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs under 29’ in length.

In order to take advantage of this Harvest Hosts location, members must have the upgraded golf membership. The golf membership gives RVers access to hundreds more Harvest Hosts locations like the Spring Lakes Golf Club. This 18-hole regulation golf course offers Country Club-level golfing at an affordable price. They also have an on-site restaurant, the Spring Lakes Bar & Grill. This restaurant serves a variety of pub-style food, beer, and soft drinks. They currently offer one pet-friendly space for RVs under twenty-nine feet in length.

The Cottage Vineyard & Winery - Cleveland, Georgia

Jim, the owner of Cottage Vineyard and Winery, developed a love for wine when he was stationed in Europe in the early 1980s. He and his wife Sandra’s passion for wine continued for nearly twenty years, leading them to eventually purchase land and plant the seeds of their future winery. They continued growing the Cottage family by forming relationships with other Georgian winemakers and hiring great folks like their current tasting room manager, Angela. We recommend purchasing an eight-flight tasting to really get a feel for the variety of wines they offer. They currently sell sixteen types of wine, wine slushies, and craft beer. In 2017, they were voted one of the top twenty-five wineries in the United States by Travel + Leisure. This Harvest Hosts location offers two reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs under forty-four feet in length.
