So far, 5192 locations have opened their hearts and their homes and/or businesses to members of the Harvest Hosts RVing community. Through this program, members receive overnight accommodations with no camping fees in peaceful and serene places across North America. In return, members are asked to make a purchase to patronize the small business that hosts them. Of these Hosts, Lavender Fields Forever is particularly special. Here you can learn all about the lavender farm’s history, its origins within the Harvest Hosts community, and what future visitors can expect to experience.Lavender Fields Forever grows lavender and creates amazing products out of it.

The History

Located in southern Oregon, this farm's property was originally owned by John and Bonnie Rinaldi around 2010. They had dreamed of running a blueberry farm, but the local wildlife had other plans. Because of the hearty and versatile nature of the herb, lavender became their crop of choice. In 2018, Michael and Cheri Lowry were determined to leave Southern California in search of a piece of land that was situated on a river with a barn already built. They came across the lavender farm for sale and couldn’t resist, despite never having dreamt of becoming lavender farmers. As a retired firefighter, Micheal, along with his wife Cheri, jumped in feet first to the world of lavender farming. The original owners were more than happy to get the couple acquainted with all things lavender. Lavender Fields Forever is a beautiful, riverfront property in Jacksonville, Oregon.

The Business Today

Today, the Lowry’s are working hard to create a variety of lavender products for customers to enjoy. They produce lavender-scented soaps, lotions, candles, and plenty more gifts. Lavender Fields Forever also hosts classes to teach the benefits of essential oils, and lavender wreath making. “There are a few other lavender farms here in southern Oregon, and together, we make up the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail.” The Southern Oregon Lavender Trail consists of Applegate Valley Lavender Farm, Goodwin Creek Gardens, The English Lavender Farm, OSU Lavender Garden, and, of course, Lavender Fields Forever. In combination with the other local lavender farms, they host two lavender festivals throughout peak harvest in the summer. The lavender products include soaps, lotions, oils, and more.

Visiting as a Harvest Hosts Member

Lavender Fields Forever joined the Harvest Hosts program as of December 2019. As RV owners themselves, they strive to make each guest feel welcomed and comfortable. While they may be new to the Harvest Hosts program, they have previously opened their property to AirBNB customers with RVs. For Harvest Hosts members, there are three reservable spaces for RVs under forty-four feet in length. They are pet-friendly and offer WiFi.  When you stop by, be sure to visit the nearby towns of Grants Pass, Ashland, and Medford. There are also fifteen additional wineries located within fifteen miles of their farm. In addition, the Rogue River entices water-sports enthusiasts with rafting and jet boating, so you should have no problem finding plenty of fun activities to enjoy. While new to the lavender farming business and new to Harvest Hosts, the Lowry’s are ready to welcome members to their property.
