Visiting Vesco Ridge Winery

Harvest Hosts is an incredible membership program with a large network of available hosts. So far, 4847+ locations have opened their hearts and their homes and/or businesses to members of the Harvest Hosts RV community. Through this program, members are offered overnight accommodations with no camping fees in beautiful and quiet places across North America. In return, members are expected to make a small purchase to support the small business. One of our incredible hosts is Vesco Ridge Vineyard in West Chazy, New York. Read on to learn all about the vineyard’s decade-long history, its origins within the Harvest Hosts program, and what visitors can expect to experience.

The History

Vesco Ridge Vineyards opened in June of 2010 as a fully licensed winery. For a few years prior to opening, the owners, Nancy and Dan, had been making wine as a hobby. Just four years after opening their winery, they built an entirely new winery and tasting room. Since then, they have been busy planting, growing, and making wine, saying that every step has been a learning experience. They are proud to be one of the excellent Lake Champlain area Vineyards that produces a variety of excellent wines.

The Business Today

Today, Vesco Ridge Vineyards is very proud to have created a New World expression of classic North Country wine, using traditional Old World methods with grapes from both their vineyard and the surrounding Lake Champlain Basin. Patiently handmade with care, they produce 6,000 bottles of a variety of wines each year. With immense flavors and aromas, these wines are an excellent tribute to the small North Country vineyards.

This small winery features a tasting room and a gift shop.  Often have music events on the weekends and other specialty events. The tasting room sells wine by the bottle, as well as wine slushies, craft beers, and wine by the glass. The gift shop also sells a variety of excellent products made with wine, such as wine jellies, wine chocolate sauce, wine dios, mulled wine, salsa, and more. They host a variety of public and private events throughout the year, including parties, artisan shows, corporate meetings, and even an Oktoberfest event.

Nancy and Dan are also proud to participate in the sixty-six-mile long Adirondack Coast Wine Trail. This trail begins in Mooers, New York and ventures through seven local wineries and cideries, bringing in lots of new business.

Joining Harvest Hosts

A customer introduced Nancy and Dan to Harvest Hosts about three years ago, and they immediately joined. Since then, they have met some wonderful and thoughtful people, and they enjoy having RVers spend time at our vineyard. They are located one hour from Montreal; Burlington, Vermont; and Lake Placid, New York.  They are also located just three miles from Lake  Champlain and very close to historical museums, the Adirondacks, and many other interesting/fun places to go and see, making this an ideal place to visit. Water is available, and RVs under thirty feet in length are welcome to stay the night.

Vesco Ridge Vineyards truly captures the unique essence of the Harvest Hosts spirit. When asked why they love running their business, the owners replied, “We love meeting new people and always enjoy the company of our regular customers.” Be sure to stop in next time you find yourself in upstate New York!
