About
Welcome - Harvest Host Member to CornerStone Farm; a working 92-acre livestock farm-stay Bed N' Breakfast. Nestled in scenic Virginia countryside, with lots to enjoy (farm activities) and see (long views under expansive sky) - right on site. Great photography opportunities abound. If you are searching for a relaxing place to stay for a single night or desire to stay longer than one night; we do accommodate longer stays. We also accept same day reservations. Feel free to call us at (434) 735-0527 Our purpose is to provide a wholesome, Godly environment where families can come together and enjoy good, everyday fun on the farm. We take pleasure in sharing with our guests the importance of nature, agriculture, the role of the small Family Farm throughout history and the importance of their bonds. We are off the beaten path; therefore, you can slow down for that much needed respite. Yet close enough for needed convenience to stores for supplies. There is plenty of room for large rigs (45’+and tow-behinds), with ample room for slide-outs and the ability to pull into the parking areas with no need to back-in. The access onto The Farm is very wide, so concern for mirrors or maneuvering is never a problem. There is plenty of space for groups. We can typically have room for 12-15 Harvest Host visitors per night for most of the months of the year. However, Winter weather could possibly reduce parking availability. Call (434) 735-0527, December through early February to verify parking conditions. We enjoy interacting with guests; relationships are important to us and we love bringing people together, while relaxing in the quietness of nature or providing a farm tour. There are large open spaces where children can enjoy the freedom of being themselves in a safe environment; playing and exploring. PET POLICY: We are a pet-friendly farm, since pets become a part of your family. However, pets must be walked on a leash in camp area and cleaned up after so as not to concern or frighten other guests. There are areas where dogs can be allowed off leash and clean-up in not necessary, ask your hosts where these areas are. Pets are ultimately the responsibility of the owner. We reserve the right to restrict pets for the safety of our guests and/or our farm animals. Upon inquiry (434) 735-0527, please notify us if you have pets. As a real, working livestock farm we have activities each day that take place in either the morning and/or late-afternoon. We invite you to learn and explore - get your hands dirty or sit back and watch the action, either way, we encourage you to be involved, to the degree you desire. Farm activities you might find yourself doing, include: chores - like feeding the livestock, milking goats or collecting eggs. Spring-time is the most exciting time of year, as new births from the goats and poultry are expected. Guests are encouraged to watch and even participate, at times. Activities on the farm that have associated fees: * Milking goats * Feeding livestock * Collecting eggs * Guided wildlife ventures * Seeing a goat kid born * Bonfires: roasting marshmallows and/or hotdogs * Guided hiking * Fishing in our stocked pond * Enjoying a farm tour with your host * Sitting next to a campfire * Stargazing * Enjoying petting the farm animals * Pony rides for young children * Games on-site, inquire with hosts * Movie night under the stars * Goat-pack or picnic basket lunch We have plenty of walking trails throughout our back 40 acres. Trail maps are provided from your hosts. Do some serious exploring and hiking to see lots of wildlife and friendly farm animals. Occaneechi State Park, in Clarksville, is a short 17-mile trip, if a full day hiking is more your interest, or to learn about the Occaneechi tribe that once lived in the area. Prestwould Plantation is on the way, should you be moved to tour a restored Southern Plantation home. Built in 1797, Prestwould is a historic house nearby. It is the most intact and best documented plantation surviving in Southside Virginia. MacCallum Moore gardens and Museum is a short 7 miles. Established in 1929, this 6-acre tract is a hidden gem in the heart of Chase City. CornerStone Farm, Bed N’ Breakfast, is open for families that would like a stay in the Inn. We can also provide meals for folks that would like a home-cook meal without doing the work, or the care of finding a restaurant in the area. Check with hosts regarding options. Bed N’ Breakfast rates apply to in-room stays and meals. Cherith Hall, our indoor/outdoor event venue with catering or DIY is also on-site. We host family friendly events throughout the year. Cherith Hall is available to rent for weddings, reunions, birthdays and many other events. We look forward to your stay! (434) 735-0527
