Following the Dream: Today is Someday
Since embarking on their full-time RV journey, Phil and Stacy have embraced living in the moment and taking life as it comes at you, an important skill while on the road. RV life is not only about the destination; it's about the community you build and the adventure you find on the way there.
FOLLOWING THE DREAM
Phil and Stacy Farley of "You, Me, And the RV" began their journey like many other full-time RVers: with a full cleansing of "stuff." They sold their house and belongings, left their jobs, and hit the road with an informal plan in place. Since embarking on their full-time RV journey, Phil and Stacy have embraced living in the moment and taking life as it comes at you, an important skill while on the road. RV life is not only about the destination; it's about the community you build and the adventure you find on the way there.
"We believe in the power of experiences and want to help people explore the world. Whether through our blog, social media, or products, we aim to inspire others to chase their travel dreams. Our mission is to help people live a life they love by inspiring them to explore the world. Our vision is a world where everyone can experience something new," Stacy explains on her blog.
Their excitement, compatibility, and zest for life have not gone unnoticed. Through their YouTube channel, "Today is Someday", andwebsite, they have inspired countless people to start living now and make their dreams happen. Phil and Stacy are Navy veterans. Their love story began on base in Japan, and their passion for helping other veterans has never ceased. The two have made it their mission to raise awareness and funds for veterans' needs. Their community has raised over $154,000 for different veterans' charities.
The philosophy and inspiration behind "Today is Someday" is to empower a community to pursue their dreams. It is the principle that your "someday" can be "today." All you have to do is take a deep breath and step into the uncertainty–your community is waiting. Along with running their own YouTube channel about the trials and tribulations of the road, Stacy and Phil are proud members of Harvests Hosts!
On their blog, Stacy and Phil discuss their experience with Harvest Hosts; "On our journey, we quickly learned that Harvest Hosts fits into our travel style perfectly. We have experienced many unique locations through the program that we would not have discovered otherwise. As we learned our RVing style, we quickly realized that we preferred to stay at unique locations."
LEARNING ON THE ROAD
You, Me, and the RV have become a go-to resource for those interested in the RV lifestyle. Aspiring RVers can find information on everything from healthcare recommendations, boondocking, electrical systems, and the best way to organize your RV!
Stacy and Phil's journey is a testament to the freedom and adventure of living on the road. They live life out of their 35-foot Tiffin Allegro RED 33AA (rear engine diesel) RV that they have nicknamed Ruby. They bought her when she was just a year old and had spent 10,000 miles on the road. With Ruby as their roadside companion, they are able to explore new places, create unforgettable memories, and live out their wildest wanderlust dreams.
One of the keys to extended life on the road is Ruby's impressive RV tank capacity. With a 100-gallon diesel fuel tank, they can roam freely without worrying about frequent fuel stops. And the 90-gallon freshwater tank ensures they have enough water for their needs, while the 70-gallon grey water tank and 50-gallon black water tank provide ample storage for their wastewater.
TIME TO UPGRADE | LITHIUM BATTERIES
Curious about the power source behind an epic RV adventure–-one that gives you endless creature comforts of the home? Look no further than Stacy and Phil's powerful Battle Born Batteries lithium upgrade! With 100Ah 12V Battle Born Batteries, Stacy and Phil can explore without worrying about draining their power. No longer is waking up and brewing coffee on their Keurig a problem! They are able to live with the creature comforts of home while on the road.
The lithium batteries power virtually anything that runs through the inverter. Big ticket items (the essentials) such as a coffee pot, hair dryer, refrigerator, lights, TV, instant pot, and most outlets throughout the RV.
Phil explained that their previous lead-acid batteries limited them, as they could use only 50% of their capacity and required monthly water level checks. In contrast, lithium-ion batteries are maintenance-free and allow for 100% capacity usage, providing significantly more power. Phil and Stacy desired freedom to run any of their appliances while boondocking, and the lithium batteries were the perfect solution.
As for the installation, the Farleys enlisted the help of their fellow RVer, Lance from Wheelin with the Wendes. While Lance may not be a professional installer by trade, the installation was done with the utmost expertise. With Battle Born Batteries' customer service at their side, it was as simple as 1-2-3!
