About
This sprawling 400-acre ranch in Northern Colorado operates as a full-time alpaca operation featuring over 400 animals in various stages of life. Guests enjoy expansive views of the Rocky Mountain Front Range and can wander freely across 250 acres of accessible land, observing alpacas in paddocks and pastures from every direction. The property offers a uniquely immersive experience where visitors interact directly with the gentle, curious animals and may witness seasonal activities like daily baby weighing, feeding routines, and shearing operations.
Comprehensive ranch tours—often conducted via ATV or on foot—reveal the sophisticated operation behind raising these animals, including breeding practices focused on fleece quality, individual animal health monitoring, and the business of alpaca husbandry. Guests frequently encounter newborn crias (baby alpacas) throughout spring and early summer months, with opportunities to hold and photograph the youngest animals. The ranch also showcases its historical significance, including an original 1800s farmstead that once operated cattle.
The on-site store features premium alpaca products handcrafted from the ranch's own fleece, including socks, hats, yarn, and other textiles that reflect the exceptional quality of the animals' fiber. The property maintains a level, spacious parking area for RVs and campers with excellent sightlines of the surrounding landscape and alpaca herds.
Throughout their stay, guests consistently praise the knowledge, warmth, and generosity of the ranch team, who spend considerable time educating visitors about alpacas and sharing the history and operations of the property. The combination of stunning scenery, hands-on animal interaction, and genuine hospitality creates a memorable experience that many visitors describe as transformative and worth returning to again.
