Are you up for an adventure? Shady Acres Lavender Farm is located off of the beaten path, and connected by forest tracts to the Gothee State Forest, in Morriston, Florida. This provides for fantastic wildlife opportunities from wild peacocks, deer and fire flies in the summer time, as well as a sky free from light pollution for unparalleled stargazing in North Central Florida! The farm is located in the heart of undeveloped woodlands and offers privacy that can't be found at other local RV parks. Our farm amenities include a firepit with benches, multiple picnic areas, designated hammock hangouts, cornhole boards, an outdoor shower (BYO camp shower bag) and horseshoes. Four Wheel Drive and off road tires along with a lighter camper are recommended for visitors due to the roads in the subdivision being primarily dirt after you turn off of SE 120th CT to SE 66th Pl. Road improvements are high on the list of our priorities, due to the roads in the area being owner maintained, however the farm must raise approximately $1200 for aggregate before improvements can take place, after purchasing a well. Multiple 2wd econoline RVs as well as 2wd trucks towing 6000 lb trailers, Cameros and Priuses have been able to make it to the farm with relatively no issue as long as speeds are kept at 20mph. Currently, the farm only has firewood lavender soap, soap making lessons and nursery stock for sale since we are in our second year of operations. We missed our first bloom this year either due to a vernalization issue or fertilizer issue, however we have dried lavender leaves from our farm for use in soaps! Hopefully, everything will be optimized this upcoming year and a bloom can be expected late summer to early fall if we are unable to afford a well to expand the varieties that we grow. Our first bloom will not only act as a phenomenal mosquito repellent but while outdoors, but will also provide fresh flowers, and eventually dried flower products like dryer bags, air fresheners and 100% Florida sourced lavender soap! Lavender soap making lessons are available for $15 per person (sadly not using our lavender oil), with additional blocks of soap available for $5 per block if you would like to stock up for your travels!
