Hee Haw Hollow – A Farm Stay in Central Virginia Conveniently located halfway between Lynchburg (and Liberty University) and Appomattox, Hee Haw Hollow makes an excellent home base for travelers who want to explore the area and return to a countryside setting each evening. Within an hour or less, guests can visit the James River, Blue Ridge Parkway, Farmville, Charlottesville, Bedford and Roanoke, making our farm a perfect hub for day trips and scenic drives. Hee Haw Hollow is home to Virginia Farm Animal Sanctuary, a 501c3 non-profit which is home to over 200 animals including donkeys, goats, llamas, chickens, and more. You are welcome to pet the animals over the fence and stretch your legs along our 2+ miles of trails that wind through the property. We also have farm fresh eggs available in our farm store year round, and seasonal veggies and other items grown here on the farm. We accept cash (at the donation box on the farm store along the driveway) or by credit card online for products and services at givebutter.com/vfas-store. We can't promise a quiet stay, as the roosters are active when the sun is up, the livestock guardian dogs may bark, the donkeys bray randomly and the geese chatter non-stop. The pond frogs can get loud depending on the season. This is a working farm and we usually start our day at sunrise but do our best to be quiet for guests. Our volunteer staff are here between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. We typically wrap up at sunset as there are no exterior lights. We usually close our front gates while it’s dark out, but it’s not locked - you are welcome to come and go, we just ask that you leave the gate the way you found it. We love dogs, and your leashed dogs are welcome, but please note that we do have free-range farm birds on the property and donkeys and mules don't like dogs that they don't know. CampSite A Hook ups: 50 amp, water, sewer ($10 per night for hookups) Length: Motorhome up to 36 feet long, no height limit. Notes: This site is level, between two pine trees, with room for slides on all 3 sides. CampSite B Hook ups: 50 amp, water, sewer ($10 per night for hookups) Length: Motorhome up to 28 feet (pull in with a toad), no height limit. CampSite C Hookups: Boondocking site (with a water hydrant close by) Length: 100+ feet (pull through), no height limit. Great site for groups and the most private and quiet on the farm. It's flat but not level. This is our best spot for trailers.
