About
Hosting area will be in lot outside the stadium. Space is of no issue, but please avoid the main blacktop and close gravel as it may need to be used for events. Events may be occurring during your stay. Some may be free or some may be ticketed events. Check in and out is not "required" as you may come and go as you please. If the office is open, feel free to visit us and say hi! The area is patrolled regularly by the police department.
For inquiries or for ticket purchases, you may reach out to skehrer@gatewaygrizzlies.com
The Grizzlies ballpark was built in time for the start of the 2002 season, under the original name of GMC Stadium. It soon changed to GCS Credit Union Ballpark. In 2023, Grizzlies Ballpark was renamed. Grizzlies Ballpark features reserved box seating, lawn seating, party suites, a hot tub suite, and a section of bleacher seating. With the bleacher section added in 2004, the stadium's capacity has increased to 6,000 fans (8,000 expanded).
In 2004, the Grizzlies became the first team in Frontier League history to draw over 200,000 fans for a season, finishing with a league best 217,500. Since the Grizzlies inception in 2001, the team has had a total of 37 players signed by MLB affiliates, and 14 signed since Manager Phil Warren took over in 2007.
ProGrass synthetic turf was installed at Grizzlies Ballpark in January 2012, affording the organization much more opportunities to involve the community with out-of-season events. Grizzlies Ballpark hosted the 2008 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. The stadium also served as the host for the annual wood-bat college baseball game between the Billikens of Saint Louis University and the Salukis of Southern Illinois University. GCS Credit Union Ballpark has hosted the Illinois/Mizzou Braggin Rights game as well. The ballpark is also home to Webster University. GCS Credit Union Ballpark also services concerts, 5K runs, swap meets, wrestling events, softball tournaments and leagues, and much more.
Grizzlies Ballpark sells a unique food item called "Baseball's Best Burger", a variant of the Luther Burger. It consists of a bacon cheeseburger with a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut used as a bun. The ballpark and the burger were showcased in a special baseball-themed episode in season 2 of the Travel Channel’s Man v. Food.
