About
Immerse yourself in a century of tradition and the gentle embrace of Lake Michigan at this unique RV camping haven. As the sun dips below the horizon, paint your evening with a glass of exquisite wine or crisp cider, all while lounging back to the serene view of a historic cherry orchard and the expansive lake beyond. Here, RV enthusiasts can connect with nature, not just through the stunning views, but with the option of a 30amp electric hook-up, ensuring a comfortable stay for $20/night when available. This cherished land has nurtured generations, maintaining its vibrancy and fruitfulness through the dedication of one family for over 100 years. The site celebrates its rich heritage, born from the purchase by Great Grandpa Shooks in 1914 with a dream to cultivate cherries. Today, that dream has flourished beyond cherries into a vineyard producing a variety of grapes, thanks to the favourable conditions bestowed by Lake Michigan. Guests are invited not only to savor the wines but to explore the sprawling 1,100 acres that tell the tale of this family's enduring bond with the land. Introduced in 2015, the vineyard boasts an exciting selection of wine grapes, including the unique NY81, Vignoles, Baco Noir, and moreeach a testament to the region's productive terroir. Visitors will appreciate the meticulous care taken in the vineyard, which enjoys a burgeoning harvest year after year. The winery is a recent addition, serving as a heartfelt space where the family's journey from 1914 onwards is shared over glasses of their finest wines and ciders. Beyond the intoxicating wines and ciders, the winery offers seasonal adult and kid-friendly slushies and an opportunity to pick cherries firsthand in July. This connection to the land and its produce is an integral part of the experience, ensuring that every visit is imbued with authenticity and warmth. RV campers looking for an enriching stay are welcomed to park in the designated gravel area and make their first stop at the main blue buildinga gateway to the unmatched hospitality and verdant landscapes of this historic farm and winery. And as the day ends, guests are reminded to cherish this piece of paradise as their own, leaving it as pristine as they found it, if not more so. A visit here is more than just RV camping; it's a journey through time, taste, and the tranquil beauty of Lake Michigan's shoreline.
