About
We are a small 3 acre hobby farm with lots of animals! Our house pets, a golden-doodle, Chloe and a cat, Cleo and a barn cat named Toes. Together they help us care for several crazy goats, 80+ Chickens, a piglet named PB Ditty, two horses, Indy and Twizzler and 2 cows that we named after 2 national parks we visited, Acadia and Zion! In the spring we ready the gardens! Summer is always full of farm chores. Building barns, mending fences, feeding animals, bathing a Horse and mucking stalls. It's not uncommon to see deer, coyotes, thousands of squirrels, and so many different breeds of wild birds (drawn in my our many bird feeders) to see as well. Our home has an asphalt drive and ample grassy and shady areas to park for an overnight rest depending on the size of your rig. We will help decide the best spots depending on the time of year and the size of your rig! We have a large fire pit that we often have evening fires in and overnight guests are welcome to sit outside at the fire. If you're interested in seeing the animals, or helping out around the farm, that may be available as well! We do have a single 30amp/110v electric hookup. We also have several 15-20 amp oultets that could be used if its available. Electricity might not always be available but it never hurts to ask! We would love it if you need any hookups for water or electric that you request this option when you request a stay, verses just showing up and asking about it. Suggested Local Attractions: The Michigan Capital is 15 minutes away. If you're in the mood for more animals and nature, Potter Park Zoo is very close, as well as Harris Nature Center. The Meridian Historical Village is nearby also. "The Ledges" of Grand Ledge is a short drive away. There are some great golf courses, tons of fabulous restaurants, and endless things to do within 20 minutes of Maple Darling Farm. PLEASE NOTE: Due to overwhelming stay requests and hectic farm life as well as our own desire for travel over the summer we recently adopted a change to our approval process. If a request is made more the 2-3 weeks out we will wait to accept but will hold your request on a first come first served basis. We try to at least acknowledge your request but we do find that we miss responding sometimes!
