About
We have recently retired from farming and we're establishing a brand new home a few hundred feet North of our present location. There will be lots going on once the weather warms. I will try to set up a spot to accomodate boondockers as quickly as possible but my priority will be our new house driveway and yard. A garden is planned too. You can request a stay to see if we are ready to host. Suggested Local Attractions:We are centrally located in the Middle of the Mitten so wherever you want to visit in Michigans Lower Penninsula this is a good jumping off spot. We are about 1 hour north of the Capital, Lansing, and 160 miles south of the Mackinaw Bridge to the Upper Penninsula. Saginaw Bay is an hour East and Lake Michigan is a couple hours West and you can take a Ferry to Wisconsin from there.

Easy going retired couple who keep busy with family, farming, & church friends. Details: I like to fish some, we both love camping in our Shadow Cruiser 25 ft 5th wheel. We travel one day a month with a group from our church who ride motorcycles. We gave up our bike and drive a little 2 seat convertible when we go touring. We also take an annual week long trip with them somewhere. I enjoy the farming most of the time but it can get hectic. Weather can change your plans all too often. I also hunt the many deer that live here after I watch them grow antlers all summer. It is possible to see them every day. Wild turkeys make an occasional appearance. I am prone to strike up a conversation with about anyone. My belief is that I need to make as many friends as possible while I am alive. Its too late after I'm gone. Home Town: Clare is the home of world famous "Cops and Donuts" bakery/eatery. Clare has long been known as the "Gateway to the North" here in central Mi. It is in "County Clare" as in old Ireland and the St Patrick's day Irish festival is a big thing locally. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Anywhere Peaceful. Walmarts and truckstops can get scary and noisy. Skills or Expertise to Share: I have worked for builders some. I was a maintenance millwright in heavy industry for a few years. Welding and steel fabrication are fun for me. I have farmed most of my life and I still do. If you have an issue with your rig maybe we can figure it out.

I do not like to find cigarette butts on the ground. Any time in the summer there may be farming activity going on. Spring, (May) fitting and planting, 3 times throughout summer, haying season, maybe round or square baler running, mid to late July wheat harvest with the combine. You're welcome to watch.
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Well maintained gravel road less than 2 miles off pavement either direction. We are less than 6 miles from the Rosebush exit off US-127 and less than 6 miles from the Loomis exit off US-10. We are in nearly flat farm country. Last year the county graded our road moving shoulder dirt onto the road so it can get messy if we have heavy rains but 99% of the time it is just fine. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: We have an additional driveway for my farm vehicles, tractors and such. plenty of places to un hitch.
