About
This is an overnight stopping site - a wooded location off a lightly traveled road. An acre at the front is cleared. There’s a gate between the driveway and the field. The RV camping area is on the entrance road before the gate (not in the field which is my dog training area and cannot be rutted). You may walk past the right of the gate if you’d like to take a walk (note: there can be ticks). Map key: blue - RV parking area, yellow - property boundaries, red - trails) In July, you are welcome to pick a pint or two of blueberries for your own use. The bushes are old and not sprayed. I’m starting to restore some bushes. I’ve cleared walking trails at the front part of the 11-acre property. Please remain on my property and not cross over to my neighbor’s farm. I’ve placed “tick-tubes” throughout the property, but these are not 100% perfect in controlling ticks so if you walk, bug spray is recommended. Your dog can be lose but beware that cars drive fast on the nearby public road and make sure you have trained a good recall and your dog won’t disappear after wildlife. Suggested Local Attractions:Visit the Candace McKee Ashmun Pinelands Education Exhibit at the Pinelands Commission's office in New Lisbon; visit the Pinelands UNESCO Biosphere Reserve; hike, bird watch or fish at the NJCF Franklin Parker Preserve; hike on the Batona Trail; bicycle on the wide bike lanes on nearby Route 532 and 563; buy snow cones, hotdogs etc at Hot Diggity Dog in downtown Chatsworth; visit Brendan T Byrne State Forest and Whitesbog Village, a historic cranberry/blueberry farm that is within Brendan T Byrne; attend a Whitesbog Preservation Trust tour or event at Whitesbog Village; visit Wharton State Forest and Batsto Village, a historic iron works within Wharton; canoe or kayak on Chatsworth Lake, Batsto River, Mullica River or the Wading River (either bring your own canoe or kayak or rent at Mick's Pine Barren Canoe & Kayak Rental or Pineland Adventures); sign up for a nature/ecology tour or a history/culture tour at Pineland Adventures; visit Atsion Lake or Bass River State Forest’s Lake Absegami for a swim at the guarded beach and/or a picnic; visit the Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen’s Museum; sign up your pooch for an training lesson at Personalized Dog Dog LLC where I can give a basic obedience or behavior lesson, a beginner agility lesson, a rally obedience lesson, a K9 Nose Work lesson, a tracking lesson, a recall and fetching lesson or a hunting retriever lesson.
