About
About my place: We live in the mountains at 6,700 feet in elevation. We are 30 miles east of Albuquerque and 40 miles south of Santa Fe. We have 40 acres located literally in the middle of nowhere. They call this area the High Desert. There are few trees and lots of open range land. At night it is very quiet. On a new moon it is also very dark. Our land is not part of any city limits. We are part of Rural Santa Fe County. The nearest town to us is Edgewood, NM about 10 miles away. I told you we are in the middle of nowhere. I would ask you not arrive after sundown. There are no street lights and our place is very difficult to find in the dark. It is also very difficult to get your RV in position on my land in the dark. If you are traveling with a travel trailer or 5th wheel you will need to back up about 600 feet around a sweeping 90 degree turn to get your RV in the correct position. One final thing, we do NOT allow pets at this time. We have a dog named Pepper. He is a mix, Border Collie, Australian Sheepdog, and Blue Heeler. He is an inside/outside dog and roams freely on our 40 acres. Pepper is a large senior dog (13 1/2 years old) with arthritis who will only make his arthritis worse trying to play with other dogs. I am really sorry, I know how much everyone loves traveling with pets. After Pepper's passing I will update this section and pets will be more than welcome. Thanks for your understanding. Local Attractions: We are midway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe New Mexico. Both cities offer tons of historical and cultural things to see and do.

Easy going, enjoy the company of others Details: I and my spouse, Herman, have been RVing since 2010. We bought our first RV because our good friends, who have RVed for 15 years kept telling us how wonderful it was. They were right! We love it. We like to take the RV and go to one of New Mexico's beautiful state parks and just relax. Spending the days hiking, reading and doing nothing. Since we are both retired. We also like to do what is called part-time/full-time travel in our RV. Often traveling three to four mounts a year in the RV.

Because we are on a well and septic tank system, we do have a few minor requests. 1. Water in the Southwest is a scarce commodity. You are welcome to hook-up your RV to our water. We would ask that guest use water in moderation. Cooking, doing dishes, toilet use, and RV showers are all acceptable usage. Using a black tank flush for 20 minutes or filling a 100+ gallon fresh water tank are not acceptable usage. 2. FYI: Our water comes from the well and goes through a number of filters, including a charcoal filter, and a water softener. This results in great tasting water but, in the shower with soap on the floor it can become very slick. Use caution if you take a shower while using our water. 3. We have an RV dump which you are welcome to use. Since the RV dump goes into our septic tank, we request you speak with us before using the RV dump. There are restrictions on what can go into the septic as well as quantity restrictions (Gallons at one time). 4. The most important rule: Enjoy!
Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: We are 10 miles from I40 on a paved well maintained road. I get my class A 37 foot RV up and down the road with no problems. If you are coming from Santa Fe or I25 do not use a GPS. The GPS will send you through the mountains to reach us. The GPS can put you on roads you will regret, especially in a larger RV. Give me a call and we can discuss the best route. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Plenty of room to park your tow vehicle next to your RV.
