About
We are a 40-year-old Goat Dairy making a variety of award-winning cheeses, gelato (returning soon) and other goat milk products. Our 300-acre working dairy farm provides a simple and peaceful country setting. The 100 or so dairy goats, chickens scratching in the yard, and the odd barn cat provide a link to nature and our agrarian past. Our main goal is to educate people on NC agriculture and give a realistic view into what a working dairy farm really is. We are not a typical agritourism destination in that you will have a bird's eye view into the true day to day workings of the farm and not just a polished glimpse. Late winter/Early Spring (Feb. 1-June 1) is the most amazing time to experience kidding season with births, baby goat feeding, snuggles and barn tours. After the middle of June most of the babies have left the farm but we do have a handful of playful "teens" that will be making Celebrity Dairy their long term home as part of our milking herd. Summers can be hot and the flies have made their debut. We use very little chemical sprays here on the farm and turn to nature in the way of spiders and fly parasites to help with that. If bugs aren't your thing then Spring or Fall are your best bet for a visit. By the beginning of November we have moved to once daily milking in the morning as the girls are using most of their energy to make baby goats. It is a lovely time to enjoy the cool weather for a walk around the pond or just hang out with the girls. December and most of January are our slowest time here on the farm as we dry off the girls (stop milking) and they just get fat and sassy in preparation for kidding that starts the last week of January. We'll still receive guest but there's not a lot of action except for you yourself getting fat and sassy partaking in our many goat's milk products. Our favorite attractions nearby are The North Carolina Zoo in Ashboro, Fireclay Cellers just a mile or so away and The Tiger Rescue down the road a piece in Pittsboro. Our favorite stops in Siler City are Best Foods Cafeteria for really good country cooking and pies and Countryside Collectibles for antiquing/thrifting. Pittsboro has our favorite used book store, Circle City Books and Solstice Herb Soaps for the most amazing soap and skin care. Right next door you will find West End Cafe for good eats and The Emporium for cool vintage shopping. Explore downtown Siler City and downtown Pittsboro for more cool things to do.
