About
Our property is in a rural, farming area with natural gas wells nearby. Tractors, cattle, trucks, lawnmowers, dogs, and the neighbor's goats may all be heard or seen at different times. This is the country, not a lot of people, so not a lot of crime. There are two free campgrounds nearby (both part of Harrison State Forest, and both lack any hook ups, so are boondocking, as well.) If you would rather stay on private property, with no other campers, our location may be a perfect fit for you. Suggested Local Attractions:We're about four miles to Tappan Lake (boating, fishing) and a bit farther to Tappan Lake Park. Nearby towns are Scio, Jewett, and Cadiz. Scio and Jewett have access to the Conotton Creek Trail, for walking, running, and biking. Cadiz has Sally Buffalo Park, which has a walking / biking trail and ponds for catch and release fishing. Harrison State Forest is nearby, with hiking and equestrian trails, ponds for fishing (with an Ohio fishing license,) a gun target range, and hunting and foraging opportunities.

HOST
Quiet person who enjoys travel Details: I am a woman traveling with one child, towing a small travel trailer. I'm a non-smoker. We homeschool. I dislike backing my camper at sharp angles on inclines. :) I'm a big believer in "leave no trace" camping. We don't need to be entertained, I'm usually just looking for a safe place to park to do school, read, have our meals, and sleep.

Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: The road leading to our property is GRAVEL. It is usually maintained, but may be rough or have some potholes, depending on the season. Take it slow. If approaching from Tappan Lake area, the gravel road approaching (Morrow Road) has a steep hill that you will travel up. If approaching from the town of Scio, (Flaherty Road,) there are no steep grades on the gravel road, but there is one fairly sharp turn. Take it slow. To park, you may pull onto the grass in the yard directly from the road (pull in, pull out, no backing necessary.) If it is soft (from rain,) do not pull into the grass. You may park in the driveway, but you will have to do some backing to turn around when you leave. The driveway is not level. You will be able to find fairly level spots on the grass, but the driveway is not level. There are low branches in the driveway. No branches in the way in the yard. I can only accommodate small trailers, small Class B or C rvs, or other small self-contained vehicles. Anything small and self-contained (have your own bathroom) should be fine! Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Parking in the grass on the lawn, or in the driveway if there has been a lot of rain. Plenty of space to park next to your unit.

House Rules
No smoking on property. Watch your children. We are right next to forested areas. We have cats that wander about. There are coyotes, raccoons, opossums, foxes, skunks, squirrels, groundhogs, hawks, the occasional eagle and bear, and other wildlife in the area. We are next to a road. It isn't heavily traveled, but cars, trucks, and tractors do use it. Watch your children, please. Watch your fur babies (see above.) Keep your pets on leash and clean up after them. Please head out by noon of your departure day. Please follow leave no trace guidelines. If it came with you, it should leave with you. Do not attach anything to the trees.
