About
Unveil the tapestry of history with a unique RV camping adventure where the essence of a bygone era is preserved amidst the charm of Lake Huron's coastal enclave. Immerse yourself in a living museum sprawled over ten lush acres, where the enchantment of Victorian and Edwardian architecture dances with the simplicity of rural heritage. RV campers, culture enthusiasts, and nature lovers converge at this exclusive destination, where they can meander through vibrant gardens, marvel at the stately Loop Harrison Mansion from 1872, and engage with history across 17 carefully restored buildings. Wander a mile-long walking path, let the tranquility of nature trails captivate your senses, and traverse charming boardwalks, bridges, and restful spaces with swings and benches primed for reflection or a good book. Infuse your stay with local flavors and entertainment. Revel in farm-fresh finds at the Farmer's Market, take a nostalgic journey at the General Store, and bask in performances from live theater to music all echoing within the historical Barn Theatre's walls. Indulge in tastings from bourbon soires to private tea parties, and be whisked away on horse & carriage or Model T tours, among a plethora of activities that animate the village year-round. For the community-minded, gather round the bonfire pitswood bundles a small token awayto share stories and s'mores under the stars. While WIFI graciously wraps the mansion, it softly fades into the history-rich camping areas, encouraging campers to unplug and connect with the surroundings. Modern comforts are within reach, with water and electric hookups available for your RV, ensuring you are well-settled for the evening narrative. And when wanderlust calls, you are mere steps from eclectic shops, waterfront dining, musings of live music by the harbor, and the caress of sandy beaches. When planning your historic retreat, reach out to discuss your intentions, and tailor an arrival time to begin your sojourn into the past, where history and RV camping coalesce in harmonious splendor.

Items to Purchase
Our General Store sells low- to mid-priced items. But since we don't have a lot of options for guests to purchase, here are some ideas in lieu of purchasing items: * Purchase tickets for one of our great paid events - find our events calendar at sanilaccountymuseum.org/calendar.php * Purchase a tour of the Loop-Harrison Mansion and our beautiful ten-acre grounds, including 17 additional historic buildings. Tours are also available at the Port Sanilac Lighthouse on Fridays during the summer months. Attend a performance at the historic Barn Theatre. * Or simply make a donation to the Sanilac County Historical Society. There are donation pipes located along our driveway and in front of the church and donations are also accepted in the office. Follow us on Facebook at "Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum" for complete details on classes, programs, tours, and events.
