Learn MoreMount Washington rules the skyline, and the Cog Railway is the RVer's way up — the summit Auto Road restricts larger vehicles, but the Cog departs from a host where you're already parked. The Kancamagus Highway's 34 miles deliver New England's most famous foliage drive; go midweek in peak weeks.
Winnipesaukee and its neighbors carry classic New England summer — brewpub stays near Meredith and Laconia put dinner and a sunset dock within walking distance. Motorcycle Week (June) fills the region; plan around or join in. Lake Winnipesaukee is a strong summer base for boating, fishing, swimming, and relaxed campground time.
Portsmouth crams remarkable food and history into 18 miles of coastline, with barn-brewery stays inland where the farm roads start. Maine begins across the Piscataqua bridge; Massachusetts is under an hour south. Seabrook and Jenness beaches are nice alternatives to Hampton Beach for sunset and off-season beach walks.
Slot NH into a New England summer road trip. Crossing borders? Browse hosts in neighboring Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts, or continue north into Quebec.
New Hampshire packs the full New England kit into one tax-free state: the Northeast's highest peaks, a lakes region that defines summer, and foliage that stops traffic — sometimes literally, on the Kancamagus in October. New Hampshire has 87 Harvest Hosts locations offering overnight RV stays at mountain railways, barn breweries, and lakeside brewpubs, headlined by the state's most-booked host: Historic Mountain Cog Railway, where members overnight at the base of Mount Washington itself. Fellow favorites Northwoods Brewing Company and Twin Barns Brewing Company round out the top three. Members can choose from 19 farm stays, 2 wineries, and 9 breweries statewide.
