About
Embrace the raw beauty of the Southwest as you settle into a unique RV camping experience on an authentic 40-acre ranch in the sun-drenched town of Deming, New Mexico. This isn't your typical upscale retreat; it is an unpretentious, working ranch with a heart of gold, supporting a noble cause that intertwines equine welfare with community enrichment. As a passionately founded Equine Safe Haven, this sanctuary operates with a charitable spirit, offering a new lease on life for horses bound for slaughter and providing educational opportunities in equine care and carriage driving. RV campers have the chance to dive into the world of "carriage driving," a recreational activity that deals not only in thrills but also in therapeutic benefits, especially for physically and economically disadvantaged community members. Witness firsthand the meticulous care and training of performance horses, including roping, working cow horse, reining, and dressage, all while learning from a seasoned equestrian with over three decades of experience. Meet Sunday and Iroquois, two mustangs that carry tales of wild beginnings and transformed lives. Capture the essence of the ranch through your camera lens, from the breathtaking New Mexico sunsets to the friendly donkeys that roam the grounds. When conditions are perfect, enjoy lead line and buggy rides, courtesy of the ranch's saved Belgian and Standardbred horses. During your RV camping adventure, you can support the ranch through donations in exchange for farm-fresh honey, eggs, and produce, in addition to distinctive craftsall proceeds go straight to the care and feeding of the resident animals. For a unique way of contributing, the ranch provides opportunities for tax-deductible donations through their website, ensuring the welfare of their equine residents and the ongoing success of their redemption story. Don't forget to follow their journey and support their mission on social media, where the spirit of the ranch comes alive with tales of rescue and a shared love for equine companions. This RV camping destination isn't just a place to park; it's a chance to participate in a life-affirming mission, indulge in rural delights, and learn from the majestic horses that call this corner of New Mexico home.

We operate 24/7 all year long. We are a 2 person operation with private horse owners. We have volunteers come help with the nonprofit equines. During the year we offer (weather permitting) ranch experiences: petting donkeys, horses, mules, goats, and chickens, and helping feed, water and brush them (weather permitting). We feed and water the 34+ equines (horses/donkeys/mules) chickens and goats every day am and pm, rain or shine. The suggested amount for the hookups is $30. If you are boondocking we appreciate a donation of $20 to help support the ranch! We will guide you to the best spot according to the weather (summer is monsoon, and winter is dry) Additional seasonal activities (weather permitting) with fee: Horse and buggy ride, a leadline ride bareback on a horse. (Picture opportunities here!) Seasonal classes on Saturdays/Sundays: Horsemanship 101 & Carriage Driving 101, Beekeeping experience (April - July), and educational Farm experiences (Chickens). Please see website for details, fees and booking: www.saddlehawkranch.com If there are activities planned during your stay we will let you know before or upon arrival. We give you a newsletter with a map when you arrive. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. @saddlehawkranch or @equinesafehaven Hiking in the area at Rockhound State Park, Spring Canyon, City of Rocks and the Gila Cliff Dwellings
