Harvest Hosts is an incredibly unique RV membership program. Through this program, members are granted access to 5197 host locations across North America for overnight accommodations with no camping fees. To support each of these businesses, members typically make a small purchase of wine or produce or whatever it is that the business is selling or offering. Locations include establishments such as farms, wineries, breweries, museums, restaurants, attractions, and more. Bowman Orchards is an incredible example of one of our amazing hosts. The History
Bowman Orchards has always been a family business. Ray and Bev Bowman first purchased the farm in 1952, and they were open for business that same fall season. From the start, they set up shop outside of their two car garage selling apples, cider, and baked goods. Later, their children began helping out on the farm and with sales. Years later, one of Bowman children, Kevin, purchased the farm from his parents and began running the operation. Since the purchase in 2004, Kevin and his family have been working hard at improving and expanding the business each and every year. Kevin and Martha are now sharing operation of the farm with their children and hope to one day pass along ownership of the farm to the third generation of Bowmans so that they can then pass it along to the 4th generation.
The Business Today
Today, visitors from all over enjoy stopping at Bowman Orchards for their fresh produce, treats, cider, and other gifts. They are famous for their U-Pick selection of fruits throughout the year, depending on the season. Every June they host their annual Strawberry Bash, while mid-summer is the time for their brand new Butterflies and Berries event, featuring delicious blueberries. In the fall, they offer their famous Fall and Pumpkin Festival, during which time visitors can expect to pick pumpkins, drink cider, and shoot apples out of a cannon!
Bowman Orchards' on-site farm store offers an awesome selection of awesome goodies and gifts. They offer year-round apple cider and occasionally offer cider slushies. Here, guests can treat themselves to some ice cream, freshly made cider donuts, or other sweet treats. They also offer home decor, candles, and other wonderful gifts suitable for any holiday.
Joining Harvest Hosts
Bowman Orchards has been a part of the Harvest Hosts program for close to a decade. In that time, they’ve hosted hundreds of RVers from all over North America, many of which have raved about their awesome experiences. Please note that there are certain days, times, and seasons in which they cannot accommodate Harvest Hosts guests due to peak business. However, they are open most days between the spring and fall seasons, and you can always call for exact availability.
