Cruising through Crossing Creeks Farm
Harvest Hosts is a unique RV membership program with a large network of available hosts. So far, 4493+ locations have opened their hearts and their homes and/or businesses to members of the Harvest Hosts RVing community. Through this program, members receive overnight accommodations with no camping fees in peaceful and serene places across North America. In return, members are asked to make a purchase to patronize the small business that hosts them. Of these the many available Hosts, Crossing Creeks Farm is rather exceptional. Here you can learn all about the farm’s history, its origins within the Harvest Hosts community, and what future visitors can expect to experience.
In December of 2012, Elizabeth and Shane Stuart, along with Elizabeth’s parents, Reid and Susan, purchased 125 acres of land in south central Tennessee, Bedford County. With no permanent driveway, two creeks to cross to access the land, barbed wire fences everywhere, and an old hay barn, there was much work ahead to be done. They have made many improvements over the years, but the two creeks offer the same beauty. Now two bridges and a driveway cross over the two creeks before they merge into one, producing the name Crossing Creeks Farm.
In addition to developing their property, the multi-generational-run farm now produces pasture-raised, organic-fed and soy-free meats, eggs and dairy.
The Business Today
Crossing Creeks Farm is passionate about producing great food for both their family’s table and yours. With a commitment to producing pasture-raised, organic-fed and soy-free everything, their focus is on grass-fed meats, eggs, and dairy, specializing in small-batch, handcrafted and premium quality. They love to connect with their customers in a true farm-to-table relationship.
According to the family, producing nutrient-rich food starts with the soil. The well-being of the animals is of great importance. They strive to care for them with the utmost respect, providing fresh grass, water, and sunshine daily for all of them. This allows them to produce excellent cattle, chicken, duck, pigs, sheep, and dairy products. In addition to their meat products, they keep their farm store well-stocked with meats, eggs, milk soaps, and other amazing, locally-produced products year round.
When asked about her favorite part of running her business, Elizabeth replied, “We love feeding our community and being in fellowship with them to restore the farmer-consumer relationship.”
