The History

In 2007, Legendary Alpacas of Texas began with the purchase of five alpacas. When choosing their alpacas, the owners mainly concentrated on quality genetics and seed stock. Over the ensuing thirteen years, they have grown their herd to over 60 alpacas. Later on, they added horses, turkeys, chickens, and ducks to really round out the farm. Now, they continue to focus on show stock while also highlighting amazing alpaca fiber products in their alpaca store.

The Business Today

Today, Legendary Alpacas continues to operate an alpaca ranch just South of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. They offer farm tours and complete education for visitors, where they can take their time to discuss the animals and their many excellent qualities. Alpacas are a tranquil and calm livestock safe for visitors of all ages. As a breeder and educator in all things alpaca, Gina, the owner, can offer as much alpaca-related information as guests' brains can hold. In addition to tours and education, guests can also purchase a variety of alpaca fiber products from the alpaca store, even including rugs, blankets, and pet leashes.For those who are interested in beginning a herd of their own, Legendary Alpacas breeds and sells alpacas. They also offer a variety of classes for those who are starting out. Because of this, Legendary Alpacas is a great place for beginners to get started, allowing them to learn from someone who is truly passionate about these creatures.

Joining Harvest Hosts

While Legendary Alpacas of Texas has been open for farm visits for years, they have just recently begun their adventures with the Harvest Hosts program. So far, they have loved meeting all the unique individuals traveling in their self-contained worlds. They find travelers to be more apt to focus on the beauty around them, enjoying the animals and appreciating the farm owners’ lifestyle. Every RVer seems to have a different favorite animal on the farm, and Gina truly takes her time showing guests around and introducing them to all the animals. Guests also seem to enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets, the pool, and the on-site fish pond. In addition to tours, a gift shop, and a petting zoo, this location also offers wildlife viewing opportunities, seasonal produce, a picnic area, and a play area.
