Harvest Hosts is an incredibly unique RV membership program. Through this program, members are granted access to [total_locations] host locations across North America for overnight accommodations with no camping fees. To support each of these businesses, members typically make a small purchase of wine or produce or whatever it is that the business is selling or offering. Locations include establishments such as farms, wineries, breweries, museums, restaurants, attractions, and more. Saxtons Distillery is an incredible example of one of our great hosts. Located in eastern Vermont, this awesome business has been producing spirits and liquors for over a decade.

The History
Christian Stromberg is the owner of Saxtons Distillery. His story actually begins in 1906 when his ancestors fled Lithuania to seek refuge in the United States. They assimilated to American culture but kept their tradition of crafting fine liqueurs alive. One hundred years and several generations later, Christian Stromberg used family recipes to begin crafting his own liqueurs with a Vermont twist. What started out as a dream in a small, slightly-heated garage, now operates as an award-winning business. In 2011, they moved production to a larger property, and they haven't looked back since.
The Business Today
Located in Brattleboro, Vermont, owner Christian and brewer Ivan continue to create incredible spirits today. Their Maple Bourbon, Liqueur, and Rye are made with real Vermont maple syrup. Christian knows how much hard work goes into producing maple syrup, and his maple spirits perfectly embody this craftsmanship. Additionally, the award-winning Coffee Liqueur is made with local coffee from Mocha Joe's Roasting Co. Every spirit at Saxton's brings something unique to the table, which is what makes their productions so special.
Tastings are available on their patio, and they even have bottled spirits small enough to fit perfectly into your RV’s cabinets. In the summers, their patio is abuzz with locals enjoying flight or cocktail, occasionally some live music, or even a food truck. In addition, they offer cornhole and have plenty of outdoor seating, and they even have some light fares and appetizers available. Not into alcohol? They also sell branded merchandise, along with some delicious local Maine sodas.
Joining Harvest Hosts
Within the last year, Saxtons River Distillery became a Harvest Hosts location. Since then, they’ve welcomed members from all over to their gorgeous property. Pets are welcome on the patio, and they offer two reservable, pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size.
In May of 2021, I visited this incredible distillery, where I sampled several spirits, appetizers, and local sodas. After trying a few delicious drinks, I settled on the purchase of the delicious maple bourbon to take with me. The parking area is spacious and level, and the property was very quiet after hours. In the future, I would absolutely return again for some of the incredible maple bourbon!
