RVers Be like… “New Renovation Ideas?”

That’s right! We at Harvest Hosts have got some great remodel ideas you may not have seen before. Now, we don’t claim to be the ones creating all of these, but we have scoured the RV community in search of helpful ideas and tips to support you in your renovation dreams.

Turn Your Bunk Into Office Space

This idea comes from reddit user: beanamonster in the RVLiving community.

If you’ve purchased—or come across a killer deal on—a bunkhouse model RV, you might be wondering what you’ll do with that space. While a lot of people choose these because they are traveling with kids or see it as a great space for storage, this RVer saw the potential elsewhere.

You can turn the bunk space into the ideal remote worker’s office. By removing the upper bunk, you can create a raised platform that is perfect for you to hibernate away and knock out your days worth of work. You’ll have ample electricity, a window, and could even add a curtain behind you for your video calls.

This remodel maximizes space, purpose, and design. To strengthen your lower bunk, you will want to use some Oriented Strand Board—OSB board—and then cover it with a rug or other flooring. By doing this, you will distribute weight more efficiently. And by leaving the frame of the lower bunk, you’ll still preserve the outdoor storage space.

The only drawback is you’ll likely need to hunch over while getting situated in your space. If it doesn’t bother you having the ceiling close to your head, this could be a great situation for you.

Create a Stunning Accent Wall

You can add some depth, pop, and self expression to your RV with these peel and stick wallpapers. If you’ve ever removed old wallpaper, then “wallpaper” might actually be a curse word to you. However, these new peel and stick wallpapers are very different. They come in 20.5 inch wide rolls and are made of vinyl. They are easy to apply, peel away, and relocate over and over. They don’t leave the sticky residue behind that many people remember from years gone by.

There is a wide range of vinyl wallpapers. You can create a multitude of vibes in your space with these wall coverings for a relatively low cost. Check out this Mountain Birch wallpaper that would help in bringing that outdoor feel indoors. Our suggestion is to use the busy patterns sparingly. If your walls are too busy, you will get lost in the pattern and won’t benefit from the simple upgrade. This is one of those “less is more” scenarios.

Bring the Projector Trend Inside

If you’ve been through a campground on the weekends, it isn’t uncommon to see people using projectors on the outside of their RV. You’ll see kids gathered around watching a movie in the evening, or adults gathered around watching the game.

But you could bring that same projector inside and say goodbye to those smaller TVs. A Nebula projector is the perfect addition to your home on wheels. It works great inside as your standard TV, and has the ability to be taken outside for up to four hours of viewing on one charge. This gives you the best of both worlds.

Inside, you can enjoy the next show or game on a much larger screen. By finding two solid places to anchor to, you’ll be able to hang a projector screen that tucks out of the way and doesn’t need to be set up each time you want to watch a show, movie, or game.

Why not turn your RV into a theater space? You’ll be the envy of the campground!

You Could Add a Spice Wall

Some of the best remodels are things that add visual appeal and functionality at the same time. By adding a spicewall, you could be doing just that.

To do this, you would purchase a piece of stainless steel that you could simply attach to the wall. It is much easier to buy something that is predone like the one above. Then, you’ll want to buy jars that have the magnetic lids

By doing this, you can create a beautiful visual inside your kitchen, while freeing up some of that much-coveted cabinet space. You can even create your own unique pattern with the spice jars, or simply keep it uniform in shape. Either way, it will give the allusion that you are quite the chef—regardless of how much you actually cook.

Thanks for the write up! Also, just a heads up, your RSS feeds aren’t working. Could you take a look at that?
