Boasting over 90 original World War II structures, this place stands as a testament to the valor and history of the Army Air Force, inviting you to explore and learn with a scenic drive around the base. Delve into the annals of the past at the on-site museum housed in the original Officer's Club, where an $8 entrance fee for adults leads to a treasure trove of wartime artifacts and stories. Younger historians, ages 12 to 17, can dive in for $5, while children under 11 enjoy free admission with the company of family or members. Peruse the gift shop for a memento, encapsulating the spirit of the era. Daily at 1:30 pm, gear up for the exclusive Flightline Tour (just $10 per person) that reveals the inner workings of a squadron maintenance hangar, showcases the historic fire station, reveals secrets of the Norden bombsight storage vault, and stands in awe within the B-29 "Enola Gay" Hangar. Even stand where history was made at an atomic bomb loading pit. Event-goers will revel in the authentic backdrop of the mess hall and dance hall, available for gatherings ranging from a cozy 20 guests up to a grand 200. Celebrate special occasions enveloped in the ambiance of history and heritage. Parking your RV is a breeze on the paved lot, with additional level dirt spaces for a more rustic setting. In addition to two museum buildings, visitors can climb the original WWII control tower, walk through our "Con Air" C-123 Provider aircraft, check out the nurses' quarters, and do a driving tour of the base. Most days at 1:30 PM we offer a Flightline Tour. Parking & Arrival
The museum is in the SMSgt John Brinkman Service Club, the two-story green building north of the control tower. Park on the north side of the pavement. Ask for instructions if you are longer than 44 feet. If you plan to run a generator, please park along the south end of the parking lot (nearer the control tower) along the chain link fence. If you have pets, please keep them on a leash when outside and keep clear of private property. If you are staying after hours or during a time the museum is closed and would like to make a donation, there is a box mounted to the right of the main entrance.
