Camping at Claddagh Farm Alpacas

Harvest Hosts is an incredibly unique RV membership program. Through this program, members are granted access to 5369 host locations across North America for overnight accommodations with no camping fees. To support each of these businesses, members typically make a small purchase of wine or produce or whatever it is that the business is selling or offering. The History

Claddagh Farm Alpacas began over a decade ago and has always focused on breeding alpacas with a variety of beautiful colors. Their main focus has always been on producing alpacas with improved fiber quality with each generation. Sometimes the alpaca breeding results in less color and more white alpacas. However, generally, their alpacas display a gorgeous variety of color variations! Currently, they work on a farm of over twenty acres in the town of Lafayette, just south of the city of Syracuse in New York.

The Business Today

Today, Claddagh Farm Alpacas operates as a successful alpaca farm all year long. They shear their alpacas each May, and they typically expect a few baby alpacas in June and July each year. Their yearly shearing event yields beautiful alpaca fur that is woven into fiber and used to create beautiful products that are available for purchase in their shop. The shop is open by appointment only, with appointments available between April and January of each year. Products sold include several types of socks, gloves, mittens, dryer balls, stuffed animals, insoles, and more. Be sure to check out their website for full product availability.In addition to creating alpaca fiber products, they also sell some of their herd and use their alpacas for breeding. Limited farm tours are available by appointment, and guests can make appointments over the phone phone or through their website. Education and customer support continue to be their primary focus, and they love teaching guests about their alpacas.

Joining Harvest Hosts

Claddagh Farm Alpacas joined the Harvest Hosts program within the last year and have had many Harvest Hosts guests. Here, the views are breathtaking, and sunsets here are reportedly spectacular. In addition to the alpaca products available in their shop, the owners also offer farm-fresh eggs and essential oil products. There is also a nice picnic and swing area to relax, as well as wildlife viewing opportunities and free WiFi.The beautiful rolling hills and renowned apple orchards make this area a phenomenal location for a stay. Historic Route 20 is also just three miles north of the farm, which passes by the the towns of Cazenovia to the east and Skaneateles to the west. In addition, there are countless other nearby attractions, which include an apple farm (Beak & Skill), a tasting room and distillery (1911), and several waterfalls (Pratts and Delphi),  as well as a nearby produce stand, several restaurants and diners, a coffee shop, and so much more. The farm offers two pet-friendly spaces for RVs under forty-four feet in length. Please note that dogs must remain on-leash at all times for both the safety of the alpacas and of the free-range chickens.Claddagh Farm Alpacas is a wonderful and unique addition to our directory of New York host locations.
