Beautiful mountain views! The Collegiate Peaks, Sanger de Cristina and Sawatch Mountains are visible from our property, making for lovely sunsets. The area is quite rural, lots of ranches and open spaces. Our driveway, where our Boondockers Welcome guests park, is large and has a lot of room but it's a bit uneven, so come prepared with levelers! Suggested Local Attractions:Rafting, fishing, golfing, road and mountain biking and hiking are popular summer activities here. Winter activities include Alpine and Nordic skiing as well as snowshoeing. There is an indoor hot springs swimming pool in town, and a handful of other hot springs in the area. Craft breweries, a variety of restaurants and art galleries all complement our friendly little mountain town.

Location

Access Road Conditions: Our property is on a hill, but it's not very steep. the access road is paved, but the driveway is gravel. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Boondockers parking is in our large driveway. Backing in is usually best; Detach tow vehicle first & park it most anywhere. Stay to the left as you back in your rig, close to the piñon tree on driver’s left. OK if you block in our parked rig, if we’re home, the rig isn’t going anywhere!

Colorado Composter Details: We love all things outdoors! Hiking, skiing, biking, but not into fishing. We both love to travel and meet new people. Hubby is a homebrewer, so there's usually a bevvy of awesome and tasty brews available at our house. Home Town: Salida, CO Favorite Boondocking Locations: All places of beauty, especially places where we haven't been yet. Skills or Expertise to Share: I like to fix things! We had a home repair business for 10+ years here in Salida, did lots of plumbing and electrical, and just about anything else that came our way. We're pretty handy when it comes to figuring out what's wrong with something that's not working correctly. And Trish is a Master Composter. :) Worms in the basement eating our kitchen food scraps. Doug is a master homebrewer, best homebrew in the county, maybe even the state!

Unsurpassed views, fabulous hosts who were excellent at communicating and went out of their way to accommodate us on that particular evening. They offer a great location for heading off to trailheads outside of town, but easy access into Salida or Buena Vista as well. Terrific little neighborhood with nice level parking for our 22’ van.

First off my family loves this small town community and amenities it offers. We stayed 3 nights and the hosts were incredible in everything. Communication and hostitality was above and beyond!! The site was beautiful and yes they do live slightly on inclines but they do have plenty of level spots or areas with levelers you can get level easily. Again the most gracious hosts

Doug and Trish are wonderful people, and the communication with them was delightful . We enjoyed Doug's beer and had a great talk with both of them. very convenient parking and not too far from the town.

Our host went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and welcome. We enjoyed spending some time together. Easy to get level in the driveway for our 25' class C.
