Very quiet country setting minutes from downtown Athens. Please only use generator sparingly and during daytime . As we started traveling more after hosting over 60 families we had to decide whether to stop hosting or create an area that the majority of the time would be Self Serve . We decided that we didn't want to have to tell anyone that needs a safe place to stay that we couldn't help them so many times there won't be anyone to greet you. There will be a box to leave donations, thank you for understanding. Suggested Local Attractions:From hiking trails to space travel this area has something for everyone. Tennessee river for Fishing, Boating, and swimming ,Richard Martin Trail, Alabama Veterans Museum, Madison Bowling Center, Sci-Quest hands on science center, Marina ,Old Decatur Historic District ,Carnegie Visual Arts Center, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Cooks Natural Science Museum, Breweries and distilleries etc. are all within 20 or so miles.

Very nice overall. Close to I65. Quiet country setting with easy access. Very open space with no obstructions for a 41 ft 5th wheel. Host communicate well and quickly by Harest Host app or text. Parking is level. I rated parking at a 4 because sites need additional gravel. Would definitely stay again and spend more time at Athens exploring. Village Pizza is excellent place to eat in downtown.

We stayed here two nights, the location being convenient to our plans in the area. The communications from the host were prompt, the directions clear, the access roads good. When we reached the site we found a large area with room to maneuver. But the lot — oh my! It was a mostly stone lot, with ruts and mounds of stone, interspersed with the red dirt of the area, again rutted and mounded. Boy did we rock and roll pulling in and backing into our site! Things were falling out of my cupboards when I opened them.We expected a “nice country setting.” While we enjoyed the quiet of the area, and the trees around the lot, we did not care for the equipment left of a sand hill behind our site, the old metal furniture with most of the cushions missing, or the anandoned vehicles. We truly appreciate the generosity of hosts who offer us a place to stay, but I do wish I had a better idea of the kind of parking area being offered. We also appreciated the offer of electricity for a small donation, and it was very conveniently located, making our stay more comfortable on these warm nights. Thank you for your hospitality!

quick response from Bob, easy on, easy off - close to Buc-cees : ) solid gravel lot in quiet neighborhood, arrived just before dark & glad because narrow countryroads/neighborhood/lot not lighted. not a place for kids - but great for pull in & sleep and back out in morning. thanks

I posted a review of this site. i want to follow up as the owner contacted me to tell me that he was having an electrition coming to check out the 50 amp connection ground fault and make sure it is safe. The owner is very responsible and doing everything to insure everything is in order and said he won't let anyone hook up until it has been inspected and cleared. This is a great location close to town and very safe and quiet.
