Big Lake Boondockin'

Wow, the home of Robbie & Nancy is situated at the beautiful lac la Blanche with spectaculair view! Nancy and Robbie really want you to enjoy your stay and we did!. You can take a dip in the lake, use the canoe and electricity. We travel with a 25ft motorhome with front wheel drive, it was not easy to climb the steep hill when we left the spot. But we made it :)

Robbie and Nancy were great hosts who will do the extra little things to make you feel welcome and make sure you have a pleasant stay. Even got the tools out for a small repair on the van. Very good people, got to love this community.

Let me start with this: Robbie & Nancy are the most generous hosts you could imagine. Actually, they gave up their RV a few years ago and have only used BW as hosts, never as guests, an that tells you everything you need to know about these welcoming people. That plus the fact that we are still enjoying the leftover baked beans from our dinner together. They have lived in the Mayo area, other than a few years out west, for their entire lives and know everyone and everything. Their house is on Big Lake and if you get a chance, be sure to go for a swim in its warm, clear water. Very refreshing and a great way to rinse off the bug spray after hiking in the nearby Ecological Reserve with Robbie. An experience not to be missed! As the description mentions, their place is down a somewhat steep gravel driveway but our AWD Sorento handled the trip back up without a whimper. Thanks, R & N, and despite your expressions of horror at the thought of visiting Toronto, we look forward to seeing you here!

R&N gave us a very warm welcome. N even had a goodie bag prepared for us with some helpful things for the RV and toys for our little daughter. That was sooo nice!! In the evening they took us on a boat ride all across the lake. Interesting locations and conversations. Thank you for hosting us!
