Located in Wilson Township just south of Sheboygan, the small community of Black River is set in the woods a short walk from Lake Michigan. It is usually noticeably cooler here due to the shade and breezes off the lake. Our family has had this property for 90 years and 4 generations so it is quite special for us. There is a U-shaped loop connecting the two driveways. Due to high water and beach erosion, access to Lake Michigan is not always possible. Kohler Andre State Park with fabulous trails is nearby. The James Tellen Woodland Sculpture Garden is a short walk with nice paths through the woods. There is a local tavern with food as well. A large public off-leash dog park is 2.5 miles away. Suggested Local Attractions:Downtown Sheboygan with its lovely harbor, shops, and restaurants is about 10 minutes north. The small towns of Kohler, Plymouth, Keil, Sheboygan Falls, etc. are an easy drive. Kunes RV Center has good supplies and a service facility. Many big box stores are located off I-43 in Sheboygan with Camping World and Costco 30 minutes south towards Port Washington.

Location
Access Road Conditions: We are a short distance off a main 2-lane residential road on a paved side street. The driveway is a pull-through C shape, dirt & gravel, and is wide with good overhead clearance. Pull-through parking should work fine. The parking area is under tall pines and trees so lots of debris is usual, particularly if it rains. We have trimmed back all the large branches so there is a good amount of filtered light. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Tow vehicles can easily park in the driveway along with your camper or motorhome.

Absolutely beautiful spot and a most congenial generous host. A moment’s walk to Lake Michigan via a neighborhood path. Easy in and out. A sculpture garden nearby. Tall lovely trees. I could go on! But I won’t.

We contacted the host late in the day and all was organised in minutes. Very peaceful night joined by deer in the garden.

The spot is level, is a pull through, has a solo stove with plenty of wood for a fire, and chairs with a picnic table. It's nestled in a quiet pine wooded section just down from the lake so you can hear the waves - what's not to like! Great spot and thank you for the conversation and hospitality Jonathan.
