This is a Boondockers Welcome host in Brasstown, NC
Max Rig Size
Max Nights Per Stay
Same Day Requests
This is a parking area next to my business. We are on the highway but it is quiet in the evening with very little traffic. The business runs 24 hours a day 6 days a week so there may also be some noise that might be heard from the equipment in the machine shop running. Depending on the size of the rig it may be necessary to move during the daytime to allow tractor trailer access to the shop. Small rigs should have no problems. Very good potable water is available to fill your unit but not for a fulltime hookup. Sunday from 6am to Monday 6am we are closed so it will quiet during that time. This stop would be best for overnight use only but we are certainly willing to try and accommodate for daytime use and or parking. Suggested Local Attractions:Casino in town of Murphy 10 miles away Plenty of hiking and mountain biking nearby.

We thoroughly enjoyed this host…he is by far, the most accomodating and helpful host we’ve ever visited. Everything he lists about his property is correct…there is road noise but it didn’t keep us from sleeping. You can use your generator to drown out the noise if needed…we stayed on a very cold night so we didnt use the generator - only our gas heat. We needed to find a propane company to refill our tanks as we had been on the road for two weeks. It was a sunday and eveyone was closed…this host not only gave us the name of a business where we could go but he texted us the GPS map to drive there. He sent his wifi passwords and said to “stream away” if we’d like. He went above and beyond and i wouldnt hesitate to stay again.

My review of the host is fantastic. He was incredibly responsive, hospitable and friendly. However, as a solo female traveler, I can not recommend this location at all. The first night, there was a guy across the street smoking outside and I felt like he was staring right at me. There’s a house (or business?) there but it didn’t even look like he was associated with it. Then the next two nights, there was a semi parked right next to me, within feet of my door. Not sure if it was another boondocker or associated with the business, but I just felt uncomfortable my whole time here. Add to that, can confirm the noise is really bad as you’re parked right off a busy street. I’d say don’t stay here unless you absolutely have to.

This place is exactly as described and I appreciated their communication from day one. He was honest about the street noise that he has no control over. For us it wasnt a issue we just slept with a fan on at night. The parking was super easy and easy to get to. For is it was a perfect location to ride our motorcycles through the Blue Ridge Mountains. They even had books on local rides and personal knowledge that they were more than willing to share with us. We will definitely go back and explore in different times of the year.

We spent several days at Brasstown since it was a convenient location for an event we were attending the following week. The location, a small business, was exactly as our host described it. The business is right on the main thoroughfare so unfortunately the traffic noise was a bit loud and after the first night we weren’t sure we wanted to stay. However, our host was most hospitable and offered to move his own camper van to give us a quieter spot tucked in along side the building. After that, the road noise didn’t bother us at all. Bob was a terrific host. We had some great conversations during our stay and we were made to feel quite at home. Lots of great information about the area, local points of interest, and even some good fishing spots. We feel like we’ve made a new friend! This location may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the hospitality of our host made it most enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

Thanks Mike for letting me stay at your location it was a great stopping point easy in and out nice level area. I thought being Sunday night traffic would not be that abundant. However I’m a light sleeper and I was up all night. Thanks for all the tips as to where to go. And thanks for taking the extra effort to direct me in another area that may be more quiet that’s above and beyond what I would expect. Thanks again
