Location

Bumper Pull size: 30 feet 5th Wheel size: 32 feet Class A size: 35 feet Access Road Conditions: 1.25 graded dirt road off US Highway. Can be washboard at times, just take it slow. My driveway is steep but asphalt. A while back an older gas powered Class A gas powered could not make it up the driveway. I make it up with my Class C (V10 gas Ford) with my CR-V in tow and over 100 guests have not had a problem (Class A-B-C, bumper pulls, and fifth wheels). Once at my home room to park and turn around but not with a toad hooked on. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Next to rig.

Retired software engineer with strong intrest in Astrophotography Details: From SoCal and retired to the dark skies of SW New Mexico in 2008. I have a class C that I take to Idaho each summer. My house is on 10 acres which keeps me busy year round! When I can I ride my BMW R1200RT which is my other love. If we have a good night I will setup a telescope for viewing, all you have to do is twist my little finger ;-) Home Town: Silver City, NM --- 80 miles North of Mexico (you can see mountains in Mexico from our front yard) and 25 miles East of the AZ border (you can see Mt Graham in AZ some 90 miles East of us). Favorite Boondocking Locations: National Forrest, BLM Skills or Expertise to Share: As an engineer I like to do my own maintenance on my CR-V (toad), Coachman RV, and my motorcycle. Have a small shop and large garage where I house my toys (MH, motorcycle, UTV, ...). My 10 acres keep me busy year round.

Bob couldn’t have done more to make our stay better. He quickly greeted us and directed us to the best spot for our trailer. In addition to telling us all about the surrounding area, Bob shared his knowledge of astronomy and he was happy to let us look through his amazing telescope to see stars, planets, and galaxies. We’ll definitely be coming back for a stay when it’s not a full moon. The dirt road out to the house was smooth, and the paved driveway up to the house was no sweat for our truck and 25’ trailer.

Spot is on level gravel driveway. Host Bob greeted us, guided us and went out of his way to make us welcome and comfortable. Panoramic views of many mountains, including 90 miles away in Mexico (the country). Spot is at top of steep, narrow but paved entrance, after driving about a mile up a hilly, windy dirt road. Our 21 ft. Class B 2-wheel drive Travato had no trouble, and host said that out of many guests, only one inexperienced driver of a big rig couldn't make it.

Bob was a most accomodating host who took the time to teach us about the surrounding mountains and local history. His observatory was a slick set-up. The property and surrounding views were outstanding, A fine host who made us feel welcome.

what an absolute delight it was to stay at CdV on thr Hill place! Bob is a fascinating, warm host who greated us on our arrival and shared a visual tour of the mountains that surround his lovely property. He invited us to stargaze from his amazing observatory and provided a guide of the stars in the sky better than any planetarium experience! We were so lucky to have clear skies and the opportunity to meet this wonderful host. Would go out of our way to return if we are ever able!
